Job Title: Switch Assembler
Job Description
The Switch Assembler performs precise assembly and testing of mechanical, electro-mechanical, and electronic products used in high-reliability applications such as aircraft cockpit controls. Working from blueprints, process specifications, and written and verbal instructions, this role focuses on small-part assembly, wiring, and rework while consistently meeting quality and production standards. This is a first-shift role on a 4/10 schedule, working Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. , with occasional overtime on Fridays when needed. The position is based in a small, close-knit production environment of around 40 production employees, fostering a collaborative and friendly atmosphere.
Responsibilities
Assemble sub-assemblies and final assemblies according to established processes, blueprints, and quality specifications.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, bills of material, and bills of operation without supervision.
Follow router processes and documented work instructions accurately throughout the build.
Perform functional testing on assigned products as required to verify proper operation.
Disassemble and rework products returned from customers as needed, following quality and process guidelines.
Review and submit paperwork for correction when inaccuracies are found and recommend changes to improve documentation.
Consistently meet or exceed established production time and quality standards.
Use all materials, tools, and equipment in accordance with safe work practices and company procedures.
Follow written and verbal instructions clearly and accurately during daily tasks.
Use a computer for basic production, routing, and documentation activities.
Perform wiring, crimping, and related electrical assembly tasks on small components as required.
Handle and assemble small parts and components with care and attention to detail.
Essential Skills
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics without supervision.
Ability to read and follow router processes and documented work instructions.
Minimum of 2 years of assembly experience, preferably in small-part assembly such as medical, aerospace, or electronics products.
Hands-on experience with wiring and crimping of small electrical components.
Ability to read and understand bills of material and bills of operation.
Basic computer skills for production and documentation tasks.
Ability to read and write in English to follow blueprints, documentation, and work instructions.
Ability to meet or exceed established production time and quality standards.
ITAR eligibility as required for working on controlled products.
Ability to safely handle weights of approximately 10-20 pounds.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in small-part assembly in industries such as medical devices, aerospace, or electronics is a strong plus.
Experience in electrical or electronic assembly, including cabling, is beneficial.
Familiarity with soldering practices and industry standards such as IPC or J-Standard is advantageous.
Basic knowledge of working with small parts and assemblies, including fine motor skills and attention to detail.
Comfort working with magnification tools for small-part inspection and assembly.

Work Environment
The work involves frequent sitting, standing, reaching, walking, and handling or grasping materials in a manufacturing setting, with occasional kneeling, bending, and squatting. The role requires good finger dexterity for handling small parts, using a keyboard or ten-key, and working with magnifying tools for detailed inspection. Lifting requirements are light, generally limited to approximately 10-20 pounds.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $22.00/hr.
