Job Title: Warehouse Worker / Material Handler
Job Description
The Warehouse Worker / Material Handler supports daily warehouse operations by packaging and preparing materials for shipment, loading and unloading trucks, stocking and organizing inventory, receiving incoming goods, and delivering materials to the production area. This role works on 1st shift from 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, in a clean, climate-controlled, and well-organized facility.
Responsibilities
Package and prepare materials accurately and safely for shipment according to established procedures.
Load and unload trucks efficiently while protecting materials from damage.
Stock and organize materials in the warehouse, ensuring proper placement and labeling.
Receive incoming materials, verify quantities and documentation, and complete receiving reports accurately.
Understand and follow the receiving process, including correct storage of customer and in-house materials.
Read and interpret pick lists to select and transact the correct materials to support shipping and production requirements.
Perform line feeding, picking, and receiving activities to support production and shipping schedules.
Deliver materials from the warehouse to the production area in a timely and accurate manner.
Operate forklifts and electric pallet jacks safely once trained and certified, including stepping into and out of the equipment.
Use RF scanners and basic computer systems, including SAP and Microsoft Office, to complete warehouse transactions and record data.
Assist and train other team members in warehouse processes and best practices as needed.
Follow safety protocols and procedures in a manufacturing environment, including the proper use of personal protective equipment.
Support and comply with all Quality, Product Safety, Health, Safety, Environmental, and Energy policies.
Adhere to all relevant statutory and regulatory compliance obligations.
Follow Integrated Management System policies, procedures, and instructions in daily work.
Support and work toward relevant key performance indicators (KPIs) as defined in the organization's goals.
Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area in the warehouse and production support zones.
Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding inventory issues, discrepancies, or process improvements.
Manage time effectively to complete assigned tasks within required deadlines.
Demonstrate dependable attendance and reliability in meeting shift and schedule requirements.
Essential Skills
Experience with warehouse operations such as line feeding, picking, receiving, and material handling.
Ability to load and unload trucks, package materials, and stock inventory safely and efficiently.
Working knowledge of forklift operation and ability to become forklift certified.
Ability to operate an electric pallet jack in a safe and controlled manner.
Basic computer skills, including the use of Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to use RF scanners for picking, packing, and inventory transactions.
Functional knowledge of SAP or the ability to learn SAP for warehouse transactions.
Understanding of receiving processes and proper storage of customer and in-house materials.
Ability to read and interpret pick lists and other warehouse documentation accurately.
Conversational proficiency in English to read instructions, complete reports, and communicate with team members.
Knowledge and understanding of property descriptions and basic inventory concepts.
Basic knowledge of quantitative methods, statistical procedures, and graphic skills sufficient for warehouse reporting.
Strong communication skills to interact effectively with coworkers and support team-based operations.
Good organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and maintain accurate inventory placement.
Effective time management skills to prioritize work and meet operational deadlines.
Dependable and reliable work habits, including consistent attendance and punctuality.
Ability to stand on hard surfaces for up to eight hours per day.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with ease and carry 50 pounds up to 25 feet without assistance.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds from waist to overhead using both hands.
Ability to walk, bend, climb, twist, stoop, squat, reach, grasp, handle, and manipulate items with hands.
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to loud noises, dust, chemicals, and varying temperatures.
Ability to wear and use personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, face shields, gloves, hearing protection, and safety-compliant footwear.
Ability to step up into a forklift and stoop lower than standard warehouse racking as required.
Vision that meets normal driving standards and the ability to distinguish colors where applicable.
Normal hearing and sense of touch to safely perform warehouse tasks.
Ability to maintain normal concentration, memory, and decision-making under typical time pressures in a warehouse setting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Prior forklift experience in a warehouse, shipping, or production environment is highly beneficial.
Previous experience with SAP or similar warehouse management systems is desired but not required.
Experience with RF scanners for picking, packing, and inventory control is a plus.
Familiarity with shipping and receiving processes in a manufacturing or distribution setting.
Comfort working with basic quantitative and statistical information for inventory tracking and reporting.
Ability to assist in training new team members on warehouse procedures and safety practices.
Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate picking, packing, and receiving of materials.
Demonstrated commitment to following safety, quality, and compliance procedures.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and production requirements in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment

The role involves regular exposure to typical shop floor conditions, including noise, dust, and occasional contact with chemicals, as well as varying temperatures in some areas. You will spend much of the day standing and walking on hard surfaces, lifting and moving materials up to 50 pounds, and performing physical activities such as bending, climbing, twisting, stooping, and squatting. The position requires the use of forklifts, electric pallet jacks, RF scanners, computers, and software such as SAP and Microsoft Office. Personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, face shields, gloves, hearing protection, and safety-compliant footwear, is required and provided in accordance with safety policies. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.
