Front Desk / Patient Services Representative

Location: Midland

Schedule:

Monday-Thursday: 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM

Friday: 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Summary

A busy orthotic and prosthetic medical practice is seeking a professional and detail-oriented Front Desk / Patient Services Representative. This role supports a high-volume clinic (20-35 patients per day) and is ideal for someone with strong medical office experience, excellent customer service skills, and confidence working with EMR systems and insurance verification.

Key Responsibilities

Greet and check in patients in a professional and friendly manner

Verify and enter patient demographic information accurately

Verify insurance coverage and obtain authorizations/precertifications

Quote and collect required payments, including co-pays, co-insurance, and deductibles

Schedule and manage patient appointments

Answer phones and provide general office support

Update patient information in the EMR system

Assist with patient check-out procedures

Cross-train in prior authorization functions

Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of experience working in a medical office front desk role

Minimum 2 years of experience using EMR/Electronic Medical Record systems

Minimum 2 years of experience with medical terminology

Proven experience verifying insurance coverage

Strong computer skills and attention to detail

Customer-service oriented with strong communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in an orthotic and prosthetic office (strong plus)

Familiarity with OPIE EMR

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Midland, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $18.00/hr.
