Summary You will serve as a WATERFRONT OPERATIONS MANAGER in the Waterfront Operations Department of MID ATLANTIC REGIONAL MAINTENANCE CTR. Responsibilities You will organize and meet deadlines and demonstrate an ability to apply new methods for continuous improvement. You will implement strategies and procedures to plan and carry out all necessary repair work. You will perform supervisory functions which include administering and scheduling leave, interviewing candidates for vacancies, rating performance of subordinates. You will resolve complaints, recommend disciplinary actions and ensure various command policies. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Applying pertinent engineering concepts, principles, and techniques applicable to a full range of marine engineering duties with In-depth knowledge. Establishing and maintaining an effective working relationships in the planning, implementation, and continuing operation of ship maintenance. Planning and directing short range emergent voyage repairs to support US Fleet Forces readiness requirements. Developing and implementing strategies and procedures to plan and evaluate necessary repair work Evaluating the effectiveness of maintenance management approaches in terms of cost and mission accomplishment and to make authoritative recommendations regarding modifications, extensions, or elimination of the concepts involved. Applying and solving problems associated with the introduction and adaptation of new concepts and innovative approaches concerned with the maintenance, overhaul, and modification of ships.
