What You Will Do
The First Line Manager (FLM) is the primary point of contact for all abnormal event facilitations at TA-55 Facility to include event investigations, fact finding facilitation, and other business services, customer-centric environment. Reporting directly to the WMS-4 Group Leader within the Weapons Mission Services (WMS) Division, the chosen candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the Associate Laboratory Directorate for Weapons Production (ALDWP) vision is executed with precision and quality by providing day-to-day direction and leadership to team members and all affected ALDWP managers and staff. WMS-4 seeks a highly motivated and experienced individual to serve as FLM in the following discipline:
The Manufacturing Manager 3 and First Line Manager selected candidate will lead the Performance Data and Response team and must be uniquely skilled to oversee the successful development and implementation of many different @types of operational and field execution programs. The manager will provide oversight management for data analytics, KPI's, Executive Dashboard Development, and Fact Finding facilitation for ALDWP facilities. Responsibilities include planning, organizing, and defining strategic objectives for the team and the Management Review board initiatives, resource and performance management, participating in daily Facility Operations syncs, responding to abnormal event investigations, ensuring that administrative and operating procedures are current, understood, and adhered to, and working with ALDWP leadership to ensure quality, program, and operational issues are reported and managed through metrics and collaborate in the fact finding process with ALDPI.
Additionally, the manager will provide direct supervision of the selected team of individuals, leading them to complete mission critical milestones and deliverables, and the standard for the utmost professional behavior and operational effectiveness.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Planning, organizing, and defining tactical objectives for successful implementations of team, group, directorate metrics program elements.
Monitoring scope and schedule and establishing day-to-day protocol for planned activities.
Delivering quality products and/or services, enforcing adherence to performance standards, and achieving the balance between the need to meet both productivity goals and quality standards.
Participating in cross collaboration efforts with ALDPI.
Performing direct daily management oversight of work, workers, projects, and facility support.
Ensuring impeccable communications with line management reporting on work status, deliverables, and commitments.
Implementing efficient time management skills and the ability to deal effectively with changing priorities and conflicting demands.
Motivating employees to work as a team in accomplishing objectives, including mentoring and inspiring peers.

Education/Experience: Position requires a Bachelor's Degree in a related field from an accredited institution and 5 years of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.
Leadership:
Experience managing multidisciplinary teams of technicians, operation support specialist and professional staff in both operational and virtual environments.
Advanced leadership skills in supervising, resolving conflicts, mentoring, team building, motivating employees, and developing personnel such as early career staff.
Proven ability to match skillsets of workers to the task at hand.
Knowledge and Expertise:
Advanced experience in developing and implementing operation related scope and/or facilitation operation activities.
Experience with planning and managing strategic and tactical execution of work, tracking and reporting progress, specifically in meeting both short- and long-term goals.
Expertise in measuring progress and reporting status on metrics associated with assigned scope area.
Accountability:
Experience working with confidential, proprietary, or sensitive information, including controlled unclassified information.
History of dependable, reliable performance with a high level of integrity at all times.
Proven ability to show good judgement when managing and overseeing the work of a team.
Communication:
Demonstrated effective written and oral communication skills as evidenced by internal and/or external interactions, briefings, presentations, and publications.

Advanced experience in interacting with a wide variety of personnel with the ability to make sound decisions in high-stress situations.
Proven experience executing programmatic changes in a fast-paced, moderate/high-hazard environment with the ability to shift and adjust priorities quickly and accurately, as needed.
Desired Qualifications:
Experience performing work in a manufacturing and/or nuclear environment and executing work in compliance with facility operations.
Experience with identifying Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and developing reliable methods for gathering data and reporting metrics.
Knowledgeable of Integrated Work Management (IWM), Integrated Safety and Security Management (ISSM), and Conduct of Operations procedures.
Knowledgeable of KPI development, data management, and data communication.
An active DOE Q-level clearance.
Work Location: The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.
Work Schedule: This position may/will require 24/7 coverage, which could/will involve working a shift/weekend schedule. Employees may be eligible for the shift differential pay when assigned by their manager. Shift/weekend assignments are at the discretion of the manager.
Position Commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. If an employee has not served the time required, they may only apply for Laboratory jobs with the documented approval of their Division Leader. The position commitment for this position is 1 year.

Clearance: Q (Position will be cleared to this level). Selected applicants will be subject to a background investigation conducted by or on behalf of the Federal Government and must meet eligibility requirements* for access to classified matter. This position requires a Q clearance and obtaining such clearance requires US Citizenship except in extremely rare circumstances. Dependent upon the position, additional authorization to access classified information may be required, which may or may not be available to dual citizens. Incentive Compensation Program: Position is eligible to participate in the Triad Incentive Compensation Program. You must be in an eligible position for a minimum of 3 months, before July 1st and remain in an eligible position as of the end of the fiscal year, September 30th. The annual distribution is prorated based on the number of months in the eligible position.
