Mesirow Integrated Marketing and Communications (IMC) oversees the Mesirow brand, creating a unified, seamless experience for all key stakeholders, from clients and prospects to the media and the people of Mesirow. The team integrates marketing activity across mixes of tactics, channels, and media environments, ensuring consistent, client-centric messaging and shaping go-to-market strategy across our core businesses.
Within IMC, the Line of Business (LOB) marketers provide strategy and support for the businesses they represent, partnering with the businesses and leveraging support from their IMC team members. This position is a Line of Business marketer primarily for the Wealth Management division, which is part of Advisory Services.
Role overview
Mesirow Wealth Management offers a differentiated approach that places equal emphasis on customized, comprehensive wealth plans that evolve alongside clients' lives and expert investment selection across traditional and alternative investments.
The Wealth Management Marketing Associate, Integrated Marketing & Communications will support growth initiatives for Mesirow Wealth Management, with a strong focus on support for Advisor-driven marketing initiatives, collateral creation, website maintenance, lead generation and social media. This role blends hands-on marketing execution with strategic collaboration, supporting Wealth Management marketing in building brand visibility, driving qualified leads and conversion, strengthening advisor visibility online and through social media. The position works closely with senior marketing leaders, business partners, and advisors to help translate business goals into high-impact, measurable marketing initiatives. The role is based in our Chicago headquarters, with required flexibility to work from the Highland Park office as needed.
Responsibilities
Business Marketing & Lead Generation
Support and execute marketing strategies for the Wealth Management business.
Assist the Wealth Advisors with the development and implementation of annual marketing plans.
Assist with RIA lift-in and Advisor recruiting marketing initiatives.
Assist senior marketing managers in developing, implementing, and optimizing integrated marketing campaigns across digital channels, including paid media, automated email, and social.
Support for lead generation programs including programmatic advertising, social media and email drip programs, as well as working with Wealth Advisors to track follow-up sales activities.
Business & Sales Support/Analytics
Develop a working understanding of Wealth Management sales processes and apply insights to campaign planning and execution.
Support metrics development, data analysis, list management, and trend analysis across marketing initiatives.
Coordinate reporting schedules, prepare performance summaries, and communicate results clearly and concisely to stakeholders.
Website/Collateral Maintenance, Event and Webinar Execution
Assist with the development, maintenance, proofreading, and distribution of marketing materials, including:
Website content
Digital and print advertisements
Newsletters and email campaigns
Fact sheets, brochures, presentations, and presentation deck materials
Video, radio, podcasting, infographics
Assist with the management of content distribution across internal channels, social platforms, email, and website content management systems.
Assist with event management on behalf of Wealth Advisors and the Wealth Management business
Invitations, RSVP tracking, event logistics, event follow up and ROI metrics
Social Media
Support day-to-day social media marketing efforts for Wealth Advisors and Wealth Management, with primary emphasis on LinkedIn and potential support for a future Instagram strategy.
Translate firm and business-level thought leadership, insights, and announcements into platform-appropriate social content that reinforces the voice and values of Mesirow Wealth Management.
Thought Leadership & Content Development
Assist in preparing thought leadership delivered as articles, newsletters, videos, podcasts, etc , including proofreading, editing, and compliance review.
Develop familiarity with advanced wealth management and investment concepts to support new content creation.
Help adapt long-form thought leadership into short-form digital / social content to maximize reach and engagement.
Database Administration & Marketing Systems
Maintain an in-depth working knowledge of Salesforce Financial Services Cloud (FSC) and Pardot/Account engagement, supporting targeted marketing and lead generation efforts.
Ensure contact records are consistently and accurately qualified for campaign use.
Serve as a liaison between marketing strategy and database execution.
Assist with Advisor training on FSC as it relates to marketing campaigns and events.
Maintain RFPIO databases and tagging to support RFP and proposal efforts.
Qualifications & Requirements
Four-year degree required; marketing, communications, or related field preferred
3-5 years of relevant marketing or communications experience, with exposure to:
Wealth management, financial planning, asset management, or investment products
Digital and social media marketing, particularly LinkedIn and Instagram
Exceptional project management and ability to simultaneously juggle multiple initiatives
Strong understanding of digital lead generation and multi-channel campaigns
Entrepreneurial, self-motivated, and eager to learn within the financial services industry
Critical thinker with strong problem-solving skills
Collaborative team player with a positive attitude and willingness to contribute new ideas
Client-focused and solutions-oriented mindset
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Experience with CRM systems (Salesforce FSC preferred) and marketing automation platforms (Pardot/Account Engagement preferred)
Experience with Marcom tools (or ability to quickly learn)
Experience with Adobe Suite InDesign and editable Acrobat (or ability to learn)
Experience with website content maintenance
In accordance with the Illinois Transparency Law the anticipated hiring base salary for the role will be between $65,000 and $75,000 per year. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, also provides the opportunity for a commission and discretionary performance bonus and the Mesirow benefit program.
