Please learn more about us here:Link to Executive Office of Veterans Services/ About Us Position Summary: EOVS is seeking a dynamic and experiencedInformation Technology (IT) Directorwho will be responsible for overseeing daily IT operations across the Secretariat, ensuring that technology systems, infrastructure, and services effectively support the work of EOVS. Reporting to the Secretariat Chief Information Officer (SCIO), the IT Director plays a key role in implementing technical solutions, supporting users, maintaining system security, and ensuring reliable infrastructure performance. The IT Director collaborates with leadership and staff to deliver efficient, secure, and accessible IT services that enhance operations and support Veterans and their families. This position provides hands-on management of projects, systems, and IT staff, and will develop and implement related technology strategies and policies. The primary work location for this role will be15 New Chardon Street, Boston, 02114.This position is expected to follow ahybridmodel of reporting to work that combines in-office workdays and work from home days as needed.Occasional travel to local EOVS affiliated offices may be required. This position may be required to be available outside of established work schedule, including weekends and holidays. Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to): Lead and manage the agency's IT infrastructure, ensuring secure, reliable, and scalable systems across hardware, software, networks, and cloud environments Oversee the performance, maintenance, and continuous improvement of enterprise technology platforms, including service management, cloud services, and data storage solutions Ensure high system availability and uptime to support uninterrupted business operations Provide strategic oversight of enterprise and line-of-business applications supporting EOVS programs (e.g., benefits, housing, outreach, employment) Direct the optimization of the IT environment, including networks, servers, and communication systems Develop and implement the organization's AI strategy in alignment with business goals and regulatory requirements Provide executive oversight of the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) platform to ensure alignment with clinical, operational, and compliance standards Lead cybersecurity efforts to protect sensitive data, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations Conduct risk assessments, security audits, and vulnerability testing to proactively identify and mitigate threats Develop and enforce data privacy, security policies, and governance frameworks Establish, maintain, and regularly test the Incident Response Plan (IRP), ensuring alignment with NIST and state standards Oversee IT service delivery, including coordination with the Executive Office of Technology Services and Security (EOTSS) and management of ServiceNow for helpdesk operations Implement end-user support and training programs to enhance IT literacy and optimize technology utilization Ensure the development of user-friendly, accessible systems that improve service delivery for Veterans Lead and manage IT projects, including planning, execution, risk management, and reporting to leadership Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget Oversee system and software integrations, working with vendors to ensure compatibility and alignment with agency needs Oversee data management, reporting, and analytics capabilities to support performance tracking, transparency, and informed decision-making Prepare and deliver reports and briefings to senior leadership on IT operations, risks, and strategic direction Perform other duties as assigned Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Experience: 6-8 years of progressive IT experience, including leadership responsibility for infrastructure, systems, and service delivery Deep expertise in IT operations, including networks, cloud platforms, enterprise systems, and service management tools (e.g., ServiceNow) Strong cybersecurity experience, including risk assessments, incident response planning, and alignment with frameworks such as NIST Experience ensuring compliance with state and federal data privacy and security regulations Proven track record of maintaining secure, reliable, and high-performing IT environments Experience leading enterprise application and system integrations aligned to business needs Demonstrated ability to lead IT teams, manage vendors, and deliver complex technology projects on time and within scope Experience supporting data management, reporting, and performance tracking to inform leadership decision-making Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical and operational concepts into clear, actionable insights for leadership and diverse stakeholders Demonstrated ability to lead and align cross-functional stakeholders, including external partners and vendors, to achieve strategic objectives Proven success managing multiple high-priority initiatives in fast-paced, mission-driven environments Strong project and program management expertise, including risk management, milestone tracking, and delivery of measurable outcomes Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, using data to inform decisions and improve service delivery Sound judgment and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to build trust, resolve conflict, and drive collaboration across teams Pre-Offer Process: A criminal and tax history background check will be completed on the recommended candidate as required by the regulations set forth by the Executive Office of Health and Human Services prior to the candidate being hired.
