Overview
JOB PURPOSE
This position provides first line, working supervision, leadership and technical oversight for inspectors, contractors, and other personnel responsible for coordinating and inspecting all phases of contract work performed on the LGE/KU transmission system.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions
Provide direct supervisory responsibilities for exempt and non-exempt construction employees and inspectors, including work assignments, performance management, and development.
Coordinates and oversees activities of contractor inspectors.
Serves as point of contact for transmission lines construction activities in assigned area (i.e., Louisville, Lexington, Western Ky, etc.).
Assures safety and efficiency of all aspects of transmission lines engineering, maintenance, and construction works in progress.
Coordinates emergency work and storm restoration activities, including internal and contract employees, related to transmission lines in assigned area.
Ensures accuracy and efficiencies of processes related to contractor invoices, budgets, and work priorities/coordination.
Implements processes to ensure that line requests, scheduled outages, and switching operations throughout the system are handled safely and effectively.
Schedules and plans line outages and maintenance construction projects.
Responsible for closing work orders, checking and processing contractor and material invoices, providing proper build information to update system maps and office prints and records.
Work directly with customers to arrange outages and obtain property owners permission for working on property.
Communicate with property owners in settling damage claims.
Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, project management, or related technical field.
5+ years experience in electric utility transmission or delivery construction, maintenance and operations
Requires a thorough knowledge of overhead and underground construction operations standards, practices, safety rules and procedures, construction equipment and tools and above-average interpersonal relations skills.
Requires effective communication, planning, organizing and analytical skills and competent computer knowledge.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous supervisory experience preferred along with strong communication and leadership skills.
Thorough understanding of electrical and mechanical principles associated with the construction, maintenance and operation of electric service delivery systems.
