This role offers a consistent 2:00 p.m.-10:30 p.m. schedule, hands-on experience across core lab areas, and the opportunity to grow through a supportive career ladder for both traditional and non-traditional lab professionals. You'll support evening-shift testing across hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, coagulation, specimen processing, and stat microbiology, including performing differentials on blood smears and body fluids.

Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS): $15,000 with a 2-year commitment

Medical Lab Technician (MLT): $10,000 with a 2-year commitment

Provide friendly, professional service to patients, clinicians, and team members, responding promptly to calls and requests.

Follow laboratory and hospital policies related to safety, quality, compliance, and best practices.

Collect and process specimens accurately, including phlebotomy as required, ensuring proper handling and labeling.

Perform laboratory testing using approved methods with accuracy, efficiency, and attention to detail.

Identify critical or abnormal results and take appropriate action following established guidelines.

Recognize factors that may impact test results and apply corrective actions when needed.

Troubleshoot issues with instruments, testing methods, specimens, or supplies using defined procedures.

Operate and maintain lab equipment, complete quality control checks, and assist with preventive maintenance.

Maintain strong knowledge of laboratory techniques, instruments, and how physiological conditions affect results.

Perform high-complexity testing independently, support day-to-day workflow leadership as assigned, and help train new staff and students.

MLS:

Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college/university AND successful completion of an accredited Medical Lab Scientist program, OR

Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college/university with a major in biological, chemical, or clinical laboratory science AND ASCP or equivalent categorical or MLT certification, OR

Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college/university with a major in biological, chemical, physical, or clinical laboratory science AND at least two years experience in a role equivalent to that of a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) in a clinical laboratory.

Prefer 1 year experience in a hospital laboratory. Knowledge of medical terminology and laboratory information systems preferred.

MLT:

Associate degree in a laboratory science with certification (or eligible new graduate) from an accredited institution as either a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), or as a Clinical Laboratory Assistant (CLA), OR

Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited institution with a major in biological, chemical, physical, or clinical laboratory science, OR equivalent education and experience as defined by CLIA '88 for individuals performing high complexity testing.

Experience: Minimum 1 years' experience in a hospital laboratory preferred. Familiarity with medical terminology and laboratory information systems preferred.Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) (ASCP) or equivalent certification preferred.
