Job Title: Accounting/Admin Assistant Division: Accounting / Administration Department: Chief Accounting Office
Reports To: County Administrator and Finance Director
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Annual Salary: Position is salaried, with an annual wage range of up to $42,163.20. The first ninety (90) days are considered a probationary period.

Summary: Responsible for administering and performing many complex professional and technical functions necessary to assist in maintaining the financial operations and systems within the department(s).
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Works under the guidance of the County Administrator and Finance Director.*
Provides administrative assistance in the Finance, Administration, Road &Bridge, and Land Use Departments. *
Maintains high ethical standards and professionalism when interacting with fellow employees and members of the public. *
Performs Data Entry.*
Maintains records of business transactions. *
Receive and process mail. *
Assists with job descriptions/ posting and inter-department communications. *
Assists in the creation of employment I.D. credentials and maintains these records. *
Scheduling: fleet, meetings, lodging, etc *
Prepares and publishes monthly disbursements and legal advertisements. *
Files and scans documents and also uploads all employee files into Tyler Technologies, new agreements and contracts to ArcaSearch, and other web-based storage. *
May assist with stocking the vending machine. *
Maintains effective relationships with all Las Animas County employees within and out of the department, as well as other agencies, vendors, members of the community, and customers. *
Effectively manages multiple projects at once.*
Effectively deals with stressful situations.*
Performs other related duties and responsibilities as required or assigned. *
Fills in for other staff as needed and/or required. *
Attends meetings and training as required. *
Communicates regularly with direct Supervisor(s) and staff regarding work topics.
Suggests changes to improve procedures that would result in efficiencies, cost savings, and safety.
Adapts to sudden and unexpected changes in work demands.

Language Ability:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written,oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should know Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Tyler Technologies, Windows-based internet browsers, Salamander Live, and Microsoft Outlook.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

Valid Colorado State Driver's License
