Location: Milwaukee, WI (hybrid or on-site, 4 days a week)

Our client seeks an Senior Accountant to join our dynamic financial services team where you'll play a key role in enhancing our accounting functions within the life insurance sector. This position involves month-end close process, collaboration with senior accounting leadership to streamline and improve financial processes and reporting.

We can facilitate W2 and corp-to-corp consultants. For our W2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.

Rate: $45.00 to $55.00/hr. W2

Responsibilities:

· Compile and analyze financial statements to ensure they are accurate and complete.

· Handle general ledger entries and perform thorough account reconciliations.

· Assist with audit preparations and policy-related accounting tasks.

· Conduct research to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.

· Oversee the management of the corporate credit card system.

· Manage financial activities for the organization's charitable foundation and subsidiaries.

· Work on regulatory and tax reporting obligations.

· Initiate and manage special projects from start to finish.

Experience Requirements:

· In-depth understanding of financial statements and fundamental accounting principles.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office and quick to adapt to new software systems.

· Prior experience in life insurance accounting is essential.

· Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

· Ability to work collaboratively in a professional setting.

· High attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.

· Self-motivated with excellent teamwork skills and a proactive approach.

Education Requirements:

· Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience.

· CPA certification is preferred; experience in financial services is advantageous.

· 5-10 years of progressive experience in accounting.

· Must have experience in the life insurance industry.
