The North American Dairy Nutrition Sales Manager will lead and drive commercial performance by leveraging deep expertise in dairy nutrition, ingredient sales, and technical service across the North American Market. This role is responsible for building customer relationships with Dairy Nutrition Consults, Dairy Nutrition Companies, Direct large Dairy customers, and expanding APC's presence in the North American Dairy Industry. This position operates under the direction of the Director of Sales for North America to develop and execute performance goals, standards, and strategic objectives.
JOB DUTIES:
Sales:
Assist in implementing dairy market sales strategies aligned with APC corporate objectives.
Demonstrated ability to develop strategic sales and marketing plans introducing new product applications to the North American Dairy Industry.
Collaborate with the team to develop and maximize strategies for marketing APC Product in dairy cow applications in the region.
Develop and deliver compelling sales and technical presentations to dairy producers, consultants, nutritionists, feed manufacturers, and industry decision-makers.
Actively participate in annual and long-term strategic planning to define sales of APC Products in the dairy industry.
Maintain regular communication with and visits to dairy industry prospects and customers to address product application questions, identify new opportunities, and ensure continued satisfaction.
Work with Director of Sales to establish effective sales strategies and assist in negotiating pricing with customers.
Leverage technical dairy knowledge and assist customers with the application/evaluation of APC Product and support their research projects as necessary.
Facilitate communication among APC research, quality assurance, customer service and production staff to ensure customer satisfaction.
Technical Service:
Identify and engage key technical influencers in the North American dairy industry - including nutritionists, veterinarians, university researchers, and consultants - to build awareness of APC product efficacy and application.
Partner with regional sales staff and customers to design, monitor, and report on dairy nutrition trials and field evaluations that support product positioning and promotion.
Provide technical consultation to assess nutritional programs, identify performance gaps, and recommend APC product solutions tied to measurable outcomes (milk yield, components, SCC, reproduction).
Collaborate with the Global Marketing Manager to develop sales training materials, technical white papers, advertising, and promotional content specific to dairy applications.
Develop strategic relationships with universities, private research institutes, and dairy industry organizations for purposes of product testing, validation, and third-party credibility.
Support customers' internal research projects with technical guidance and data interpretation as needed with assistance from APC Tech Services.
Professional Development/Other Duties:
Attend North American dairy industry conferences, trade shows, and seminars to stay current on research, regulatory trends, and competitive developments impacting APC product acceptance.
Regularly review dairy industry publications, trade journals, and technical literature to identify emerging opportunities or threats.
Assist with annual budget planning and forecasting for the dairy segment as requested.
Participate in business skills development training and leadership programs as directed.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Demonstrated ability to develop and grow sales and market share in the North American dairy industry, with strong technical service capability.
Proven success introducing new functional ingredients or nutritional products to the dairy industry.
Ability to analyze market trends, product lifecycles, and competitive dynamics within the North American dairy sector.
Deep knowledge of dairy cow nutrition, ration formulation, and herd performance management.
Effective communicator across all business stakeholders: sales teams, research personnel, customers, distributors, and prospects.
Ability to manage and protect confidential corporate and customer information with discretion.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
Ability to meet deadlines, remain composed under pressure, and maintain professionalism during peak activity periods.
Comfort delivering technical information in both one-on-one and public presentation settings.
Ability and willingness to travel as required.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Dairy Science, Nutrition, or related and relevant field preferred (ex. nutrition, marketing, business management).
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Dairy Sales Manager in the dairy industry.
Demonstrated success in managing customer relationships and growing revenue in a market based, consultative role.
Strong knowledge of technical aspects with experience in dairy cow nutrition.
Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams.
Other Qualifications:
Proficient in written and spoken English; fluency in other languages is a plus.
Competent with standard computer software.
Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.

BASIC MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
This job requires the mental capabilities to apply technical knowledge surrounding the North American Dairy Nutrition market. Furthermore, the incumbent must assimilate and disseminate product information and assist in the marketing and development plans/strategies for APC products.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND EXPOSURES:
This position requires the incumbent to travel on business on a regular basis in a variety of weather conditions. Additionally, the incumbent of this position spends time in the following environments: general office settings, production plants and research labs.
