Job Title: Industrial Plastic Painter
Job Description
The Industrial Plastic Painter applies high-quality paint finishes to Class A plastic components in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role focuses on achieving durable, consistent, and visually appealing finishes using industrial spraying techniques and careful surface preparation. You will work hands-on with paints, coatings, and related equipment while contributing to a precision-driven, quality-focused production team.
Responsibilities
Prepare plastic components for painting by cleaning, sanding, masking, and thoroughly inspecting surfaces.
Mix paints, coatings, and solutions accurately according to specifications and job requirements.
Operate paint spraying equipment, spray guns, and related tools to apply consistent, even coatings to Class A plastic parts.
Use hand and power tools for surface preparation and minor fabrication or repair tasks as needed.
Handle raw materials, paints, and equipment safely and in compliance with established safety standards and procedures.
Perform quality inspections using measuring and inspection tools to verify finish, coverage, and consistency.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, following all safety protocols and housekeeping standards.
Support assembly, fabrication, or auto body repair tasks as needed to meet production goals.
Plan ahead for paint jobs by locating, staging, and preparing materials, coatings, and components in advance.
Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively about job status, issues, and priorities.
Adapt to changing production demands and priorities while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
Essential Skills
Hands-on experience with industrial, automotive, or construction painting processes.
Proficiency in paint preparation, including cleaning, sanding, masking, and surface inspection.
Ability to operate spray guns, paint booths, and related industrial painting equipment safely and effectively.
Experience working in warehouse or manufacturing environments with moderate noise levels.
Ability to perform basic math calculations related to measurements and material usage.
Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality, consistent finishes.
Self-directed work style with the ability to manage tasks independently and meet deadlines.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and production demands.
Willingness to work overtime as required.
Reliable transportation to and from the facility.
Physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds and to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
Adequate vision for close work, distance, color differentiation, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Prior experience in industrial painting, automotive painting, or construction painting.
Familiarity with paint prep processes such as sanding, blasting, and masking.
Experience working with plastic components and Class A surfaces.
Knowledge of paint booths, industrial paint systems, and spray painting techniques.
Exposure to powder coating or blasting operations.
Mechanical aptitude and comfort using hand and power tools.
Ability to support basic assembly, fabrication, or auto body repair tasks.
Strong organizational skills to plan and stage materials and coatings efficiently.
Dependable work habits and a strong sense of craftsmanship.

Work Environment
The role is based in a large manufacturing facility that maintains a close-knit, supportive atmosphere. You will work around paint booths, spray guns, and plastic components, with a noticeable paint and plastic smell that is present but not harsh. The environment includes typical warehouse and manufacturing conditions, such as moderate noise levels and active production areas. You will spend most of the day on your feet, standing and walking, and handling materials and components weighing up to 25 pounds. Standard industrial attire and appropriate personal protective equipment are required to ensure safety and comfort while working with paints, coatings, and related equipment.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00/hr.
