Job Title: Electrical Construction Project ManagerJob Description
This role leads electrical construction projects from planning through completion, with a strong emphasis on field experience, adherence to NEC codes, and effective coordination among clients, contractors, and internal teams. The Electrical Construction Project Manager oversees scope, schedule, budget, and quality while driving long-term project success and supporting opportunities for upward mobility within a well-established organization.
Responsibilities
Plan, lead, and manage commercial and multifamily electrical construction projects from initiation through closeout, ensuring alignment with project specifications, budgets, and timelines.
Develop detailed project plans, including scope, schedule, and resource allocation, using Primavera P6 or similar project management tools.
Oversee system design, schematic development, and blueprint reading to ensure accurate implementation of electrical systems in the field.
Coordinate closely with clients, contractors, vendors, and internal teams to facilitate seamless project execution and resolve project-related issues.
Prepare, review, and update construction estimates using HeavyBid or comparable estimating software to support accurate budgeting and bidding.
Manage project documentation including RFIs, submittals, and change orders, ensuring timely processing and clear communication to all stakeholders.
Administer contracts and procurement processes in accordance with company policies, project requirements, and NEC standards.
Monitor project progress through regular site visits, inspections, and meetings, proactively identifying and addressing schedule, quality, and resource challenges.
Ensure all work complies with safety regulations, industry best practices, and NEC codes throughout all phases of construction.
Utilize Procore and Bluebeam for project documentation, reporting, drawing review, and communication with project teams.
Oversee construction site activities, including daily scheduling, resource management, and quality control to maintain high standards of workmanship.
Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including logs, reports, drawings, and records, to support audits, closeout, and future reference.
Promote and foster a collaborative work environment focused on safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement across both field and office teams.
Essential Skills
5+ years of commercial or multifamily electrical experience as a Project Manager.
Strong field-based electrical construction experience, with field experience preferred over purely electrical engineering experience.
In-depth understanding and practical application of NEC codes in electrical construction projects.
Demonstrated experience managing RFIs, submittals, and change orders on electrical construction projects.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, blueprints, and construction documents.
Hands-on experience planning and managing electrical construction projects, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation.
Proficiency with Primavera P6 or similar project scheduling tools for project planning and tracking.
Experience preparing and reviewing estimates using HeavyBid or comparable construction estimating software.
Ability to manage contracts and procurement processes in compliance with company standards and industry regulations.
Proficiency using Procore and Bluebeam for project documentation, drawing review, coordination, and communication.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain comprehensive project records and documentation.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients, contractors, vendors, and internal teams.
Proven ability to oversee on-site construction activities, including scheduling, resource management, and quality control.
Commitment to safety and adherence to industry standards and regulations on all project sites.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience managing multifamily and commercial electrical projects from preconstruction through closeout.
Background in circuit-level electrical construction work and systems implementation.
Ability to identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices in project delivery.
Demonstrated capability to grow into increased responsibility and long-term leadership opportunities.
Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to resolving field and design issues.
Comfort working in both office and field environments and transitioning between them as project needs require.
Work Environment
This role operates in a blended field and office setting, with approximately half of the time spent on project sites and half in the office. The schedule typically consists of five days per week in the office or on site, supporting active projects and collaborating with project teams. A vehicle is provided for travel between sites and the office, reflecting the expectation of regular field presence. The work environment involves frequent interaction with construction teams, vendors, and clients, as well as extensive use of tools such as Primavera P6, HeavyBid, Procore, and Bluebeam to plan, track, and document projects. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $52.00 - $57.00/hr.
