Job Title: Electrical Test Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Electrical Test Technician to join our team in Rancho Bernardo, CA. This role involves working with advanced electromagnetic systems and requires a broad knowledge base in electronics, test instrumentation, and mechanical assembly.

Responsibilities

Perform or assist in fabrication, modification, assembly, installation, operations, repair, and maintenance of laboratory, experimental, and commercial equipment.

Consult on the design of equipment or tests.

Setup and conduct moderately complex experiments and tests, recording and summarizing data.

Troubleshoot digital and analog circuitry, including microprocessor-based designs, ADC/DAC, serial port communications, and logic circuitry.

Operate equipment to conduct tests and troubleshoot assemblies using power supplies, digital volt meters, chart recorders, and oscilloscopes.

Maintain supporting equipment necessary to operate and test Radiation Monitoring Systems and subassemblies, including test bench equipment, thermal vacuum chambers, and ovens.

Assist Test Engineers with executing test procedures and work with a team of Test and Design Engineers to troubleshoot failures.

Assist with the development and implementation of processes necessary to test new production runs.

Perform preventative maintenance activities on test equipment and data acquisition systems.

Implement modifications and engineering changes to maintain systems as necessary.

Identify deficiencies with processes, procedures, and equipment, escalating findings promptly.

Travel to other company sites nationwide as required.

Perform other duties as assigned to ensure an effective and efficient work environment.

Maintain a 6S compliant workspace and observe all relevant laws and regulations.

Work safely in accordance with established operating procedures.

Essential Skills

Ability to troubleshoot digital and analog circuitry, including microprocessor-based designs.

Experience with tools such as oscilloscopes, DVMs, DMMs, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and rotameters.

Electronic testing experience, with an ability to work with power supplies and read wiring schematics.

AA Degree or equivalent experience, preferably with a Naval or Military Experience.

Experience in troubleshooting PWAs down to the component level.

Willingness to work with and around radioactive materials.

Willingness to work overtime and weekends when required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Familiarity with Microsoft operating systems is required.

Knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office is a plus.

US Citizenship is required.

Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD security clearance.

Capability to lift 35 lbs.

Work Environment

The work environment includes working with advanced electromagnetic systems and related power equipment. The role may require traveling nationwide and working with radioactive materials. The workspace must adhere to 6S compliance standards, and the employee is expected to work safely following established procedures. Overtime and weekend work may be required.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Poway, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $43.00/hr.
