Summary This position is located at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific in Honolulu, Hawaii. Responsibilities Incumbent serves as Administrative Officer at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific. The incumbent performs a wide range of budgetary program oversight, procurement, and personnel management functions in administering the facilities operational programs. An objective of the position is to assess the productivity, effectiveness, and efficiency of the program operations at these sites and to recommend resolution of problems in a full range of administrative activities. Incumbent's primary duty at these sites is to support management in meeting the goals and objectives of the National Cemetery Administration and the Pacific District Office. The primary qualification requirements are analytical ability, substantive knowledge of programs as they effect the operation of a large cemetery and knowledge of pertinent statistical, accounting, budget and economic principles and techniques. Incumbent also performs administrative work concerned with establishing and maintaining employer/employee relationships that contribute to satisfactory productivity, motivation, morale, and discipline. The incumbent is the principal advisor to both the Cemetery Director and the Assistant Cemetery Director in accomplishing a variety of administrative functions. Performs public outreach as needed. Work schedule: Required to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. May include occasional weekends. Due to the mission of the National Cemetery, the cemetery cannot be closed for more than 2 consecutive days at any given time. Additionally, when a Federal holiday falls on a Monday or Friday, staff may be required to work on that holiday or a Saturday. All staff is required to work Memorial Day and Veteran's Day each year. Staff will be required to work overtime, weekends and holidays when necessary to meet the needs of the cemetery.
