Auditor II
Location: Colorado Springs, Colorado (Onsite)

Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Auditor II to perform financial, compliance, and performance audits across organization departments. This is a journey-level role for professionals with a solid foundation in internal auditing who can independently plan and execute audits while contributing to organizational accountability and improvement. You will work with departments and leadership, applying risk-based audit methodologies and presenting actionable findings.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and perform audits, including risk assessments, audit programs, and fieldwork.
Evaluate internal controls, fraud risk, and operational efficiency.
Analyze data, conduct interviews, and document findings objectively.
Prepare audit reports and present recommendations to management.
Support external audits, fraud investigations, and consulting engagements.
Participate in internal quality reviews and process improvement efforts.
Collaborate with other assurance partners to align audit coverage.
Stay current on audit standards, emerging risks, and best practices.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university.
Three (3) years of full-time, professional experience in auditing, accounting, compliance, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in municipal or utility environments.
Project management or IT audit experience.
Professional certifications (CIA, CPA, CFE, PMP) and/or an advanced degree.
Skills & Capabilities
Working knowledge of IIA standards and the IPPF.
Strong risk-based audit and analytical skills.
Experience using data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, ACL).
Understanding of governance, risk management, compliance, and fraud frameworks.
Familiarity with GAAP, GASB, and IT control frameworks (e.g., NIST, COBIT).
Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage time and workload across multiple audits.
Compensation and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $34.61/hr to $41.55/hr.
