Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join a Contract assignment in Gainesville, Georgia. This role will support core accounting activities, strengthen financial accuracy, and help maintain audit-ready records through consistent review of transactions and balances in NetSuite. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with general ledger accounting, close activities, and data validation, along with the ability to work collaboratively across finance and operational teams.

Responsibilities:

Support monthly and quarterly close cycles by preparing, reviewing, and recording journal entries within NetSuite.

Reconcile key balance sheet accounts such as cash, accruals, prepaid items, and company card activity to ensure accurate ledger balances.

Examine accounting transactions in NetSuite to confirm proper coding, completeness, and adherence to internal control standards.

Review financial reports, transaction detail, and backup documentation to identify inconsistencies and validate reported results.

Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including researching exceptions and resolving variances.

Prepare audit support schedules and organize documentation required for internal and external audit requests.

Contribute to fixed asset accounting by maintaining depreciation support and reviewing related records in NetSuite.

Investigate accounting discrepancies, recommend corrective actions, and help improve day-to-day accounting procedures and controls.

Partner with finance, operations, and audit stakeholders to promote accurate reporting and reliable financial data. Requirements - Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience in a staff accountant or similar role.

Practical experience using NetSuite for journal entries, reconciliations, and transaction review.

Working knowledge of general ledger accounting and month-end close procedures.

Experience supporting audit activities and evaluating accounting data for accuracy and compliance.

Familiarity with corporate tax, sales tax, and corporate tax return processes.

Ability to analyze variances, research issues, and resolve discrepancies with attention to detail.

Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
