Job Description:
Reporting to the Manager of Manufacturing Engineering, the Industrial Engineer I is responsible for developing and implementing production and process layouts that improve efficiency across plant operations. This role focuses on continuous improvement in manufacturing and warehouse processes, designing policies and standards, and working with vendors to optimize equipment and workflow for current and future needs. A key part of this role is fostering a culture of safety by enhancing processes, standards, and facility layouts that prioritize the well-being of employees and compliance with safety regulations.
AS AN INDUSTRIAL ENGINEER I, YOU WILL:
Design andoptimizeproduction layouts to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
Identifyandeliminatewaste using lean manufacturing principles and time-and-motion studies.
Develop and implement process control systems to support continuous improvement.
Establishaccuratelabor standards through work sampling and analysis.
Apply Industrial Engineering concepts to line management, capacity analysis, scheduling, production planning, headcountand layout planning.
Build value stream maps andprocess flowsto support standard work documentation.
Collaborate with key cross-functional teamsregardingproduction design, capabilities, communication processes, tooling, and material handling equipment.
Research and rationalize capital equipment expenditures for efficient and economical manufacture of high mix - low volume products
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineeringwith1-3years of related experience
Able to multitaskand execute on multiple projects at the same timewhile ensuring focus and passion for delivering high quality work.
Able to use engineering tools and software packages to design and automate manufacturing processes
Able to use empirical analysis,modelingand methodologies tovalidatemanufacturing process and tooling design and specifications
Organizational, communication, presentation, and project management skills to interface with all levels of the organization, suppliers, and customers.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general technical periodicals, professional journals, blueprints, schematics, drawings, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability towritereports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
Knowledge and experience working in a team environment
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
Knowledge of problem-solving fundamentals
Experience in high mix - low volume production processes
Safety project experience
Knowledge and application of LEAN Manufacturing techniques
Knowledgeable in AutoCAD and Inventor modeling software
