Overview

We are seeking a Perioperative Nurse , also referred to as a OR Circulating Nurse , O R Circulating RN or Perioperative RN in our Minor Surgical Procedures department. The OR Circulating Nurse w ill be a part of a close-knit, highly collaborative operating room team that assists with minor surgical procedures . The OR Circulating RN is an essential member of the perioperative team, who advocates for patients that are under anesthesia and/or sedation and the OR RN that conducts an inventory of supplies and equipment used during and after the minor surgical procedure. This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PD/ PRN as needed.

Employment Type: Per Diem ( PD/ PRN) - at least 3 shifts every 6 weeks ?

Hours: 8-hour shift - 6:00a to 2:30p or 8:00a to 4:30p m (flex with number of cases)

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

Prepare the operating room, ensure the cleanliness of the environment, and confirm that all required equipment is functioning properly

Assist in preparing the patient for the minor surgery, which may involve verifying the patient's identity and surgical site, helping to position the patient on the operating table, and ensuring that all necessary pre-operative procedures are completed

Document pertinent information before, during, and after the surgical procedure, such as the patient's vital signs, medications administered, and any other relevant details for the patient's medical record

Maintain a safe and sterile environment in the operating room by adhering to strict infection control protocols and ensure that all team members follow proper procedures for handling instruments and equipment

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

Current and valid state RN License.

Current BLS (AHA or ARC) certificate upon hire and maintain current.

Current ACLS (AHA or ARC) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.

Certified Nurse OR (CNOR) Certification (AORN) preferred

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
