Job Summary and Qualifications
The Analytics Manager is responsible for providing high quality, timely analysis and insight to support the HCA medical transportation service line and its programs and their leadership at all levels of the company. The Analytics Manager is responsible for the creation and management of reports/reporting tools to support financial analysis, evaluate strategic initiatives, and drive departmental process improvements. The Analytics Manager is also responsible for maintaining the quality of the medical transportation service line's data by ensuring adherence to documentation and quality standards. The Analytics Manager also has responsibilities to provide leadership, support, and management tasks associated with leading analytics resources.
What you will do in this role:
Provides strategic direction of data and reporting capabilities for all functions across HCA medical transportation service line and programs
Works directly with division and corporate leaders to identify strategic opportunities and participate actively in the development and monitoring of KPIs for any resulting projects.
Actively manages a suite of recurring reports (daily/weekly/monthly/etc.) and reporting tools (i.e. dashboards) to ensure stakeholders have robust, timely, and accurate data to drive strategic decision making and monitor departmental performance.
Adds/removes/modifies data and reporting elements proactively to enhance clarity, efficiency, and value of all reports.
Systematically/independently identifies critical trends and communicates them proactively to leadership, developing additional reports/tools to support further analysis as needed and to support facility and service line requirements.
Maintains a working knowledge of departmental/division/enterprise/industry strategic priorities to inform and focus their analysis.
Serves as the liaison between other analytics departments and teams to ensure accurate use of medical transportation data and develop cross-departmental reporting tools as appropriate.
Educates/trains stakeholders on all reports, data tools and business intelligence resources as needed.
Provides support on enterprise reporting and provides support or leads select enterprise-wide reporting and analytics projects
Leads department managerial tasks (new analyst training and onboarding, continued skill development for existing analysts, administrator for departmental workflow/documentation, etc.)
Creates and maintains a suite of reports to monitor staff compliance with process and data standards. Partners with program leadership to address documentation quality issues at the department and employee level.
Provides ongoing education and training to medical transport program staff on documentation standards.
Ensures all data and reporting is provided in a HIPAA compliant manner.
Coordinates and leads compliance initiatives, as requested.
Maintains an extremely high level of customer service by responding to all requests quickly and accurately.
What qualifications you will need:
Bachelor's degree in information management, healthcare information, computing, accounting/finance, mathematics, statistics, or related fields
5+ years of analytics experience working with large scale centralized medical transportation programs or clinical command/logistics centers
Demonstrated ability to use a combination of applications and tools to complete analysis, including but not limited to database tools (SQL, Teradata, GCP), analytics tools (PowerBI, Qlikview, Qliksense, Tableau), and Office applications.
Excellent analytical and data management skills, with experience querying and combining related data from different @types of databases/systems (including SQL queries, application data exports and Excel) into a single report/analysis effort.
Knowledge of generally accepted database design methodologies and querying tools (SQL, Access, Teradata)
Experience developing and maintaining dashboards and using web reporting applications
Advanced skill with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word (Additional familiarity with SharePoint, Visio, and Access preferred)
Expert skill in Microsoft Excel with significant experience using complex formulas, pivot tables, charts, macros/VBA, data connections/queries
Ability to create compelling, attractive data visualizations in PowerPoint/Excel/BI tools to highlight key findings in their analysis and create executive level summaries
Working knowledge of healthcare services' volumes, financial metrics, utilization, and market demographics
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience communicating directly with executive level leadership
Proven ability to manage competing deadlines and priorities with professionalism, experience in managing customer expectations and balancing requests from diverse stakeholders
Readily adapts to change and is resilient under pressure, with experience completing analysis rapidly on demand and completing multiple iterations in response to customer requests
Applies critical thinking to all analysis requests, proactively communicating with stakeholders if an alternate approach is recommended
