The Clifton-Fine Central School District is seeking a dependable and hardworking Building Maintenance Worker/ Bus Driver to join our facilities and transportation teams. This hybrid position supports the day-to-day operations of our buildings and grounds while also serving as a substitute school bus driver as needed. The successful candidate will help ensure a clean, safe, and efficient environment for students, staff, and visitors.
Located on the western edge of the Adirondacks and serving as the gateway to the Five Ponds Wilderness Area, Clifton-Fine Central School District is a small, supportive community where every employee plays a vital role. Preferred Skills & Experience: Proficiency in multiple standard building trades such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, masonry, HVAC, and landscaping. Familiarity with computer applications, including building automation systems. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment. Self-motivation and the ability to complete tasks independently. Responsibilities: Maintenance Duties: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on school buildings, grounds, and equipment. Assist with cleaning, snow removal, mowing, and other seasonal tasks. Respond to maintenance work orders in a timely and efficient manner. Transportation Duties (as needed): Safely operate a school bus to transport students in accordance with NYS laws and district policies. Follow assigned bus routes and maintain accurate trip records. Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of the bus. Fill in for regular drivers during absences or emergencies.
Benefit Package: Competitive salary: $42,000$52,000 (based on experience). Comprehensive benefits, including health insurance and retirement plan.
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma, high school equivalency diploma, or an Individual Education Plan (IEP) diploma. At least one (1) year of experience in building construction, maintenance, or repair work. Must possess a valid New York State CDL with School Bus (S) and Passenger (P) endorsements, or be willing to obtain one (District provides paid training) Application Deadline: Applications will be reviewed and interviews conducted on a rolling basis.
