GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function that may be performed at the job level.
Performs first-line customer service, including greeting walk-ins, answering phones, answering inquiries, or directing to the appropriate staff member.
Performs various functions for staff and administration.
Explains Division policy, procedures, and practices regarding general non-case-specific requests for information.
Directs customers to appropriate claims analysts for case-specific information.
Monitors and maintains fax machine/copier, and office printer.
Distributes printed material appropriately.
Performs troubleshooting and determines the need for professional technical assistance.
Receives, date stamps, and distributes incoming correspondence from walk-in customers, FedEx, and UPS, signing for documents as necessary.
Processes outgoing correspondence for mail or FedEx.
Responsible for the disposal of confidential printed information.
Researches and retrieves information from case files using the computer PowerSuite and imaging systems.
Schedules medical appointments and prepares medical documentation for inclusion with the appointment.
Responsible for file reproduction for the appellate process and research, resolves, and responds to record requests from other entities.
Qualifications
PREFERENCES:
Preference may be given to those with Customer Service experience. Microsoft and Google product experience preferred.
Preference may be given to those with multi-line phone experience.
KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws, codes, regulations and policies, technical processes, and procedures related to the Division of Workers' Compensation.
Knowledge of techniques for providing a high level of customer service.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Associate's Degree (typically in Business)
Experience:
0-1 year of progressive work experience (typically in Business Office Communications) with acquired knowledge at the level of an Office Assistant II
OR
Education & Experience Substitution:
2-4 years of progressive work experience (typically in Business Office Communications) with acquired knowledge at the level of an Office Assistant II

None
Necessary Special Requirements
PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying light items, driving an automobile, etc.
Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.
