Job Title: Heavy Industrial Assembler
Job Description
The Heavy Industrial Assembler assembles, fits, and tests large, complex mechanical and inflatable survival systems used in marine and aviation environments. This position supports the production of evacuation systems, inflatable life rafts, and related safety equipment by following detailed work instructions, blueprints, and strict quality standards. The role requires strong mechanical aptitude, hands-on assembly experience, and the ability to work safely with heavy components and industrial tools.
Responsibilities
Assemble heavy industrial and mechanical components used in inflatable life rafts, evacuation slides, and marine safety systems.
Perform mechanical assembly of metal frames, fittings, valves, fasteners, and fabric-based inflatable components.
Read and interpret detailed work instructions, engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to complete assemblies accurately.
Use hand tools, power tools, torque tools, and assembly fixtures safely and correctly during all assembly tasks.
Perform pressure testing, functional testing, and visual inspections in accordance with quality and safety requirements.
Identify, document, and report defects, nonconformances, or assembly issues to production and quality teams in a timely manner.
Follow all safety procedures, quality standards, and manufacturing protocols throughout the production process.
Support rework, repairs, and product modifications as required to meet product and customer specifications.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including proper handling and storage of tools and materials.
Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams to resolve issues and improve assembly processes.
Perform heavy lifting and other physically demanding tasks as part of daily assembly work.
Essential Skills
Heavy industrial assembly experience with large and complex mechanical components.
Strong hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools in a production or industrial setting.
Ability to read, understand, and work from blueprints, drawings, work instructions, and specifications.
Capability to perform heavy lifting and labor-intensive work safely and consistently.
Mechanical aptitude with experience in mechanical assembly, including structural assembly tasks.
Ability to conduct pressure tests, functional tests, and visual inspections to verify product quality.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy when following quality standards and assembly procedures.
Ability to identify and communicate defects or assembly issues clearly to production or quality personnel.
Commitment to following safety procedures and manufacturing protocols at all times.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in structural assembly or similar heavy industrial environments.
Backgrounds such as military or automotive technician experience tend to align well with this @type of work.
Comfort working with metal frames, fittings, valves, fasteners, and fabric-based components.
Ability to collaborate effectively with production, quality, and engineering teams.
Willingness to support rework, repairs, and product modifications as production needs change.

Work Environment
This is a first-shift, on-site industrial production role working Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with regular overtime opportunities on Saturdays for approximately 5-6 hours as needed. The work takes place in a manufacturing environment focused on assembling and testing heavy mechanical and inflatable safety systems. You will regularly use hand tools, power tools, torque tools, and assembly fixtures, and you will handle heavy components and perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting and moving parts. The facility emphasizes safety, organization, and cleanliness, with clearly defined procedures and quality standards guiding daily work.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $29.00/hr.
