Job Title: Industrial Electrical Controls Technician
Job Description
The Industrial Electrical Controls Technician installs, wires, and tests industrial machinery control enclosures for a variety of applications. This role works on first shift, Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and focuses on reading and interpreting electrical schematics, assembling electrical and mechanical components, and ensuring that all control systems meet operational and quality requirements. The position collaborates closely with engineering and mechanical assembly teams and may occasionally support equipment installations at customer sites.
Responsibilities
Wire and integrate industrial machinery control enclosures for a wide range of industrial applications.
Read and interpret electrical schematics, bills of materials, drawings, engineering prints, specifications, and written or verbal instructions.
Lay out, machine, populate, and wire electrical control enclosures according to engineering and quality standards.
Assemble mechanical and pneumatic components as required to complete control systems and related equipment.
Use common hand tools, drills, taps, saws, knockout punches, and multimeters to perform daily tasks safely and accurately.
Verify completed work by checking continuity and performing simulated functional tests to confirm proper component circuitry and operational performance.
Assist the mechanical assembly department with assembling structures from aluminum extrusions.
Support equipment installations at customer sites, which may require daily and/or occasional overnight travel.
Operate a forklift when needed after completing provided training and following all safety guidelines.
Collaborate with engineering to resolve technical issues using email, collaboration platforms, phone calls, and in-person communication.
Manage time effectively to work independently and complete multiple assignments in a deadline-driven environment while maintaining high quality and safety standards.
Essential Skills
1-3 years of experience applying industrial electrical skills such as wiring, troubleshooting, and assembly (preferred).
Hands-on experience wiring electrical control panels; exposure to UL 508A standards is a plus.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, electrical specifications, and engineering documentation.
Experience working with industrial hydraulic machinery.
Working knowledge of AC and DC control circuits, including single-phase and three-phase motor control.
Familiarity with PLC terminology and functions.
Basic knowledge of electrical measuring instruments and meters, including the use of a multimeter.
Ability to understand and work with electromechanical functionality.
Knowledge of applicable electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks in an organized manner.
Effective communication skills for collaborating with engineering and other teams via email, collaboration tools, phone, and in-person discussions.
Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and complete multiple assignments within deadlines.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with UL 508A control panel standards.
Experience supporting equipment installations in industrial environments.
Comfort using common hand tools, drills, taps, saws, knockout punches, and other shop tools.
Ability to perform basic mechanical and pneumatic assembly tasks.
Willingness to travel for daily and occasional overnight equipment installation projects as needed.
Ability to learn and safely operate a forklift after training is provided.

Work Environment
The role is based in a very clean, temperature-controlled facility designed for comfort and safety. Work takes place primarily on first shift, Monday through Friday, from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. You work in a shop and assembly environment using industrial tools such as hand tools, drills, taps, saws, knockout punches, and multimeters, and may occasionally operate a forklift with provided training. The position involves close collaboration with engineering and mechanical assembly teams, as well as periodic travel to customer sites for equipment installations, which can include daily and occasional overnight trips.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
