Retail Associate Job Description Position Title: Retail Associate Department: Lakeside Trading Location: Union Springs NY Reports To: Store Manager

Position Overview: The Retail Associate plays a vital role in delivering excellent customer service, maintaining store standards, and contributing to the overall success of Lakeside Trading. This position involves assisting customers, managing merchandise, operating the point-of-sale system, and ensuring the store runs efficiently and professionally.

Key Responsibilities: Customer Service: o Greet customers warmly and provide prompt, friendly assistance. o Offer product recommendations and information to meet customer needs. o Address customer inquiries and resolve complaints efficiently and courteously. Sales and Transactions: o Operate the cash register and process payments accurately. o Upsell and cross-sell products to maximize sales opportunities. o Handle returns and exchanges in compliance with store policies. Merchandising and Inventory Management: o Restock shelves, maintain displays, and ensure products are well-presented. o Monitor inventory levels and notify management of low stock or discrepancies. o Assist in unpacking deliveries and organizing storage areas. Store Operations: o Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the store. o Follow opening and closing procedures, including securing cash and inventory. o Adhere to safety and security policies to protect customers, staff, and assets. Team Collaboration: o Work collaboratively with team members to meet sales and operational goals. o Participate in team meetings and training sessions. o Support other departments or tasks as directed by management.

Work Conditions: The role requires standing for extended periods in a retail environment. Frequent lifting, bending, and moving of merchandise up to 50 pounds. Work hours may include evenings, weekends, and holidays. Employees may be exposed to moderate noise levels, such as background music and customer conversations. Exposure to second-hand smoke may occur, as the facility permits smoking or is located near smoking-designated areas. The work environment includes outdoor tasks or fluctuating temperatures.____ Qualifications and Skills: High school diploma or equivalent. Prior retail or customer service experience is preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Basic math skills and familiarity with point-of-sale systems. Positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods. Capability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
