About this Unit:
The Quality Management Department exists to guide and support CMHHIP's efforts to meet or exceed customer expectations by maintaining excellence in patient safety and care, and to identify opportunities for improvement through data collection, analysis, interpretation and dissemination of data-based information that enables hospital leadership to utilize resources in an effective and efficient manner and to operate efficiently under legislative and regulatory mandates and clinical and administrative policies and guidelines.

About this Position:
As a part of the CMHHIP Quality Department team, the project coordinator participates in the development of clinical and technological project planning and implementation activities. The position then implements activities for the overall coordination of all assigned projects, meets with the project teams as needed, but at least monthly, which necessitates on-site observations to best determine processes in order to facilitate the completion of the project from inception to closure utilizing established methodologies, and within available resources. The project coordinator analyzes the effectiveness of the determined processes, and recommends new and innovative processes and methodologies, in order to optimize efficiencies. In addition, this position actively participates in the CMHHIP Quality Department's change management efforts to improve patient care and satisfaction through assigned projects and quality initiatives. This position may be delegated tasks such as the administration of, updates to, and maintenance of, the CMHHIP Resource website and the internal Quality Department site to assure positive, ongoing user experience. During emergent situations or hospital-wide crises, this position may be required to be present on a patient unit or other location to provide administrative or operational support as directed by leadership, which may include assisting with duties that involve direct patient contact to ensure the safety and continuity of hospital operations. Duties in this position include:
Project Coordination:
formulates and manages project schedules, priorities, reports, progress and work plans
identifies scheduling problems while adhering to departmentally focused objectives, processes and procedures, as well as ensures consistency in how projects are planned, managed and controlled throughout their life cycle
ensures compliance to the terms of the project's scope
proactively manages the full life-cycle of project initiatives, including overall project plan, issues, impacts, and reporting, by standardization and best practice project implementation
works effectively with the project's key client and stakeholders
proactively manages changes in project processes, identifies and reports potential risks, and devises contingency plans
identifies potential problems and makes suggestions to improve the overall performance of the project for customer satisfactions
participates in the development of curriculum to coach staff on standardization of project related work, and identifies, trains, and mentors staff utilizing process improvement methodologies
CMHHIP Google Site Administration/Informatics:
identifies usability problems likely to affect the user experience and makes recommendations to address
tracks, compiles and documents the website traffic to determine the effectiveness of the site
recommends site improvement required to enhance user experience
collaborates with Project Manager and IM teams to maintain and update resources accessible for users who interact with the website(s)
proactively responds to complaints and suggestions from users for issues or improvements to the site(s)
working with the Project Manager, seeks opportunities to coach staff on standardization of related work, and identifies and mentors staff utilizing process improvement methodologies related to maintaining or creating department sites or Google Drive folders/documents linked to the CMHHIP Resource Site
Process Improvements Follow-Up:
follows up on process improvement plans of corrections initiated by department heads to assess progress and effectiveness
works closely with those teams to ascertain the best way to adapt the plans in order to best meet the goals of improved practice or process
determines the best way to communicate the recommended changes to foster relationships and optimize a team-focused approach to quality improvement

Experience Only:
Six (6) years of relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position
Or
Education and Experience:
A combination of related education and/or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned equal to six (6) years
Preferred Qualifications:
experience with project management or project coordination
Project management education or training/certification
e xperience with healthcare quality improvement initiatives

ability to read and comprehend the English language; effectively and fluently communicates in English, both verbally and in writing;
work in an environment with fluctuating noise and temperature (hot and cold) which may include working outdoors in inclement weather and/or concrete floor/wall work settings
2-step TB (tuberculosis) screening is required of all new employees upon hire
annual influenza vaccination, other vaccinations as required by the State and facility.
CDHS Selection Process Explanation
Employment history is calculated on a full-time basis (40/hrs per week). Part-time employment is calculated on a prorated basis to determine qualifications.
