Summary

Salt River Project (SRP), the nation's third-largest public power electric utility and central Arizona's largest supplier of raw water, is seeking a motivated college student to join its Generation Major Projects team. This internship offers hands-on experience supporting project teams and day-to-day operational activities while providing the opportunity to collaborate with engineering professionals in a corporate utility environment.

The student intern will work daily scheduled hours based on the department's needs, with a minimum requirement of 15 hours and up to 40 hours per week maximum.

What You'll Do

Researching, processing and submitting technical data reports.

Learning and development of standards, procedures and drawings.

General shadowing & assisting engineers by taking on small design projects or assignments on their own.

Assist with other duties or assignments as needed.

Education

A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.

Experience

Electrical and Mechanical Engineering majors preferred.

Must be a full-time college student, enrolled in at least 12 credit hours, in an accredited University or Community College and maintain a good academic standing.

Have a high level of interpersonal skills.

Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills.

Possess functional knowledge of Microsoft Office products.

Be able to work independently as well as in a team environment.

Additional Requirements and Qualifications

College level coursework (100 or higher) from an accredited institution is preferred. Management will evaluate college-level coursework individually to determine if it is applicable to the position and relevant to the required skills.

Knowledge such as accounting, general administrative principles, communications, marketing, personnel, finance, training, business and other non-scientific fields.

Hybrid Workplace

SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
