THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Nursing Aide, you will provide care in the following areas: Skilled Care, Personal Care, Outpatient, and General Population. This role will be directly supervised by a Registered Nurse. Some of the daily duties include, but are not limited to:
Complete basic nursing skills and nursing procedures to maintain optimum inmate health as well as provide quality care.
Complete any required documentation
Collect specimens as directed by the Registered Nurse for urine, feces, and sputum.
Complete or assist inmates with daily living activities and hygiene to ensure basic physical care needs are met.
Participate in Life Skills programming which involves following nursing care plan orders, providing care and interventions consistent with inmate's needs, and documenting the assigned aspects of nursing care plan.
Participate in emergency situations by performing emergency procedures as indicated
Participate in emergency response drills

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment, 40-hours
The Department of Corrections is staffed by three (3) work shifts that cover the facility 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Work hours will be determined from the following shifts:
1st shift: 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM
2nd shift: 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM
3rd shift: 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM
Alternative work schedule may be available depending on operational needs.
Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry ;or
Six months of paid experience in the care and treatment of geriatric or physically ill patients or residents.
Additional Requirements:
You must be able to perform essential job functions.

You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
