Job Title: Construction Project Manager - Mission Critical / Data Center ProjectsJob Description
The Construction Project Manager will lead and support mission critical and data center construction projects in the North Texas region. This role focuses on managing day-to-day construction operations, coordinating subcontractors and bids, and partnering closely with design and field teams on design-build projects. The position offers the opportunity to work on a growing portfolio of highly technical facilities while contributing to a collaborative, office-based construction group.
Responsibilities
Lead or support day-to-day construction operations on mission critical and data center projects.
Assist with comprehensive project planning, including defining scope, milestones, and deliverables.
Develop, maintain, and monitor project schedules to ensure on-time completion.
Track and manage project costs, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
Prepare, review, and process change orders to accurately capture scope and cost impacts.
Coordinate subcontractors throughout all project phases, ensuring quality, safety, and adherence to schedule.
Manage the RFP and bid processes, including preparing bid packages, evaluating proposals, and supporting subcontractor selection.
Collaborate closely with design teams on design-build projects to align constructability, schedule, and budget.
Partner with field teams to resolve issues in real time and maintain progress in the field.
Support construction oversight activities to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and quality standards.
Assist with or manage RFIs (Requests for Information) to clarify design intent and resolve conflicts.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of project management processes and best practices within the construction group.
Travel to project sites and related locations as needed, up to approximately 50% of the time.
Essential Skills
7-12 years of construction experience, preferably in a project management capacity.
Demonstrated experience with construction oversight, including field coordination and quality control.
Hands-on experience with project planning and scheduling for commercial or industrial construction projects.
Proficiency in cost development, cost tracking, and managing project budgets.
Experience preparing and managing change orders throughout the project lifecycle.
Strong background in managing subcontracts and coordinating subcontractor activities.
Proven experience with RFP and bid processes, including bid preparation and evaluation.
Ability to work effectively on design-build projects in partnership with design and field teams.
Experience managing or processing RFIs (Requests for Information).
Willingness and ability to travel up to approximately 50% of the time.
Ability to work from a base in either Dallas or Fort Worth, Texas.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
General contracting experience is preferred.
Experience with mission critical or data center projects is a strong plus.
Construction management experience is preferred.
Owner's representative or owner-side experience is considered an advantage.
Familiarity with mission critical facility requirements and systems is beneficial.
Strong communication and collaboration skills to work closely with multidisciplinary teams.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
Work Environment
This role is based in the North Texas region, with the expectation that the Construction Project Manager will work from either Dallas or Fort Worth. The company operates primarily as an in-office organization and offers a flexible 30-day work-from-home policy. The construction group in North Texas consists of approximately 70 employees, including a dedicated team of about 15 professionals focused on data center projects, and is part of a broader national mission critical practice of around 40 team members. The position follows a 9/80 work schedule for employees in the office, providing an additional day off every other week while maintaining full-time hours. Work involves frequent collaboration with design and field teams, regular interaction with subcontractors and project stakeholders, and travel to project sites up to approximately 50% of the time. The environment is professional, team-oriented, and centered around delivering complex, mission critical facilities with high standards of quality, safety, and performance.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $170000.00/yr.
