We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

Military service members and veterans with ranks from E5-E9, W1-CW5, or O3-O6, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined below will be considered for this opportunity.

Job Summary

This role will support Dominion Electric Virginia (DEV) and will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and analyzing accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness and conformity to reporting and procedural standards.

Specific duties include:

Maintain company records and general ledger accounts related to third-party managed decommissioning trust accounts.

Prepare, produce and review the required filing schedules related to the decommissioning trust investment activity.

Conduct other complex assignments and analysis involving accounting projects and the day-to-day maintenance of a general ledger.

Identify areas for increased efficiencies and work to implement them.

Identify inconsistencies and problems and work to resolve them.

Perform appropriate accounting controls related to job related activity.

Participate in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings and financial reporting.

Participate in and perform quarterly and year-end Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) financial reporting requirements and responsibilities.

Routinely interact with both internal and external partners.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

5-6+ years of general accounting experience or 4+ years of public accounting experience. Note: A Master's degree will count as one year of experience. A partial year of six months or more will be rounded up to one year.

Specific knowledge, skills, abilities and experience:

Broad knowledge of U.S. General Accounting Principles (GAAP), practices and procedures

Excellent computer skills including Excel

Effective communication, interpersonal and customer service skills

Excellent analytical skills

Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task

Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.

Education Requirements

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Bachelor

Preferred Disciplines: Accounting, Business, Finance

Other disciplines may be substituted for the preferred discipline(s) listed above

Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description

Preferred: Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
