Description We are looking for a meticulous and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team in Riviera Beach, Florida. In this long-term contract position, you will play a critical role in managing financial records, processing invoices, and ensuring accurate billing and payments. This is an excellent opportunity for an organized individual with strong analytical skills to contribute to a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:

Create and maintain both electronic and paper-based job files, ensuring accurate record-keeping and timely opening or closing of files.

Monitor the status of ongoing jobs, reconcile job costs, and manage close-out paperwork for completed projects.

Calculate costs and percentages for progress billings, preparing and posting customer invoices accordingly.

Apply credit memos, customer payments, and maintain accounts receivable balances in alignment with the general ledger.

Research and resolve payment discrepancies, ensuring timely and accurate reconciliation.

Process vendor invoices and company credit card statements, posting them accurately in accounts payable.

Maintain organized records of paid and outstanding payables and receivables, ensuring all files are up-to-date.

Reconcile job costs with the trial balance and investigate any discrepancies to ensure financial accuracy.

Obtain and process credit card payments from customers in a secure and efficient manner.

Manage special discounts, tax exemptions, and credit rates for customer accounts as needed. Requirements - Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other accounting software, with QuickBooks experience being a plus.

Strong organizational and communication abilities, with exceptional attention to detail.

Ability to work effectively within a team and adapt to a collaborative work environment.

Demonstrated skills in administrative writing, data entry, and invoice processing.

Basic understanding of mathematics and accounting principles to handle financial tasks accurately.

Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to research and resolve discrepancies.

Capacity to handle pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.

Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or a combination of education and six months of related experience.
