Job Title: Territory Sales Manager
Job Description
The Territory Sales Manager manages and grows a defined local territory by balancing new business development with the expansion of existing client relationships. This role focuses on consultative, field-based sales within landscaping or adjacent service industries, combining on-site assessments, accurate estimating, and proactive account management to drive revenue and ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
Responsibilities
Manage and grow a defined local territory through a balanced focus on new business development and expansion of existing client accounts.
Follow up promptly on inbound and self-generated leads, qualify opportunities, and guide clients through the full estimating and proposal process.
Conduct on-site visits to assess landscaping and property service needs, recommend appropriate services and solutions, and verify that completed jobs meet expectations.
Perform field measurements, job scoping, and site evaluations to develop accurate estimates and detailed quotes.
Collaborate closely with field and operations teams to ensure estimates align with service capabilities, resource availability, timelines, and pricing standards.
Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, addressing questions, handling objections, and providing consultative guidance on service options.
Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, ensuring consistent communication and continuity of service.
Conduct periodic account reviews to evaluate performance, identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities, and strengthen long-term client relationships.
Identify and pursue opportunities to increase client retention and share of wallet through proactive relationship management and value-added recommendations.
Partner with operations and service teams to resolve service concerns quickly and ensure client expectations are met or exceeded.
Maintain an up-to-date working knowledge of landscaping services, seasonal impacts, and local market conditions.
Stay informed on competitors, pricing trends, and evolving customer expectations within the territory to refine sales strategies and proposals.
Maintain strong territory discipline through effective time management, organized scheduling of client visits, and accurate documentation of activities and opportunities.
Essential Skills
10+ years of sales or account management experience in an adjacent industry such as landscaping, facilities services, property services, or similar field-based services.
Working knowledge of landscaping services, terminology, and job scoping gained through hands-on or adjacent industry experience.
Proven ability to develop, manage, and sustain strong, long-term client relationships.
Demonstrated experience conducting on-site evaluations, estimating jobs, and performing consultative selling.
Strong customer service orientation with the ability to respond to client needs promptly and professionally.
Proficiency in estimating, including field measurements, job scoping, and developing accurate quotes.
Experience in outside sales with a track record of prospecting, qualifying, and closing opportunities.
Strong communication skills, including clear verbal and written communication with clients and internal teams.
Effective negotiation and presentation skills to address client questions, handle objections, and present solutions confidently.
High level of organization and time management, with the ability to manage a territory, prioritize activities, and follow through on commitments.
Demonstrated territory discipline, including structured planning of visits and consistent follow-up.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally throughout the assigned territory.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in landscaping or closely related field-based service industries is highly beneficial.
Background in account management with responsibility for client retention and growth.
Comfort working in a field-based, client-facing environment with frequent on-site visits.
Ability to analyze market conditions, competitor activity, and pricing trends to inform sales strategies.
Work Environment
This is a full-time, Monday through Friday role primarily based in the field within a defined local territory. The Territory Sales Manager spends most of the time on client sites and properties conducting assessments, evaluations, and relationship-building meetings. The position involves regular local travel by car to visit clients and prospects, collaborate with field teams, and review job sites. Work conditions may include exposure to outdoor environments, varying weather, and different property @types while performing on-site evaluations and measurements.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $33.65/hr.
