Accounts Payable Clerk

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Fairfield, New Jersey. In this long-term contract position, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of invoices, maintaining financial records, and supporting audit and compliance activities. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a dedicated individual to contribute to the efficiency of our financial operations.

Responsibilities:

Accurately process and enter a high volume of vendor invoices on a daily basis.

Verify the accuracy of invoices by cross-checking them against purchase orders and receipts.

Investigate and resolve discrepancies, missing information, or unusual charges in invoices.

Monitor account balances to ensure payments are made on time.

Organize and maintain vendor files and financial records for easy access and compliance.

Assist in processing employee expense reports in line with company policies.

Provide necessary documentation and support during audits or compliance reviews.

Facilitate 1099 filings and other accounts payable-related reporting requirements.

Preserve the confidentiality of financial data while maintaining accurate historical records.

Contribute to special projects and perform additional duties as assigned to support the team. Requirements - Proven experience in accounts payable or a similar financial role.

Strong knowledge of invoice processing, coding, and check runs.

Familiarity with handling high volumes of invoices efficiently and accurately.

Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in financial documents.

Proficiency in maintaining organized records and files.

Experience with 1099 filings and other compliance-related tasks.

Excellent attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality.

Strong organizational and multitasking skills to handle various responsibilities effectively.
