Job Title: Box Truck Driver / Furniture Installer
Job Description
This role combines professional driving with hands-on installation work, ensuring furniture is safely delivered, carefully installed, and thoughtfully arranged for residential, commercial, event, and trade show clients. You will represent the company on-site, provide excellent customer service, and support warehouse operations as needed while operating a 26 ft. box truck in compliance with DOT regulations.
Responsibilities
Safely operate a 26 ft. box truck in full compliance with DOT regulations and company safety standards.
Deliver, install, and pick up furniture for residential, commercial, event, and trade show clients according to floorplans and delivery instructions.
Protect products during transport by properly loading, securing, and organizing items in the truck.
Maintain a clean, organized vehicle and ensure equipment and tools are properly stored.
Complete all required paperwork accurately, including delivery documentation and pre- and post-trip inspection reports.
Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck to identify and report any maintenance or safety concerns.
Assist with warehouse operations, including loading and unloading trucks, shipping, receiving, and organizing inventory.
Lead and direct helpers on the truck to ensure efficient deliveries and outstanding customer service at each stop.
Use basic tools to assemble and install furniture and related items on-site as required.
Carry and move furniture up and down stairs and through various @types of properties while protecting both the product and the customer's space.
Carefully set up apartments and other spaces "turn-key," including placing furniture and items such as beds and kitchenware according to client expectations.
Communicate professionally and courteously with customers, team members, and dispatch to ensure smooth, on-time deliveries.
Adapt to changing routes, schedules, and priorities while maintaining a positive, customer-focused attitude.
Support warehouse tasks during slower delivery periods by assisting with general labor and facility needs.
Essential Skills
Proven driving experience with a 26 ft. box truck.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Ability to pass a DOT physical and pre-employment drug test.
Strong customer service skills with a professional, courteous attitude.
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs., climb stairs, bend, and remain physically active for extended periods.
Comfort with physically demanding work, including carrying furniture up and down steps and moving items through various environments.
Basic tool knowledge and ability to use tools such as cordless drills and screwdrivers.
Attention to detail when delivering, installing, and setting up furniture and household items.
High School Diploma or equivalent education.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience as a box truck driver, delivery driver, mover, or furniture installer.
Experience in loading, unloading, and general labor in a warehouse or delivery environment.
Experience assembling basic furniture pieces on-site for customers.
Ability to read and follow floorplans and setup instructions accurately.
Strong teamwork skills and ability to lead and guide a helper during deliveries.
Reliability and flexibility to work varying start and end times based on scheduled routes.
Organizational skills to keep trucks and equipment neat and well-maintained.

Work Environment
You will report daily to a warehouse based in Pennsauken, NJ and work primarily in the field across South Jersey, Philadelphia, King of Prussia, up to Reading, PA, and down to Delaware. The schedule is flexible, with routes and workdays planned 1-3 weeks in advance so you know your hours ahead of time, although start and end times will vary day to day. You are paid from the time you arrive at the warehouse until you return at the end of the day. All truck drivers work with a helper and use equipment such as hand trucks and carts to assist with loading, unloading, and deliveries. Drivers participate in loading and unloading their trucks at the warehouse and may support general warehouse duties when delivery volume is lower. The work is active and hands-on, involving frequent lifting, carrying, climbing stairs, and assembling furniture in a variety of indoor environments, including apartments, offices, and event spaces.
