Employment Type: Full-Time / Mon-Fri / 8:00am-5:00pm/ No Weekends, No Holidays

About the Role:

Novant Health is seeking a dedicated Certified Medical Assistant to coordinate and assist healthcare providers in delivering safe, quality, and cost-effective care to our diverse patient population. What You'll Do

What You'll be doing:

Coordinate and assist providers in delivering healthcare services.

Assist providers during exams and procedures

Take vital signs, obtain medical histories

Assist with patient form request ie FMLA or other needed forms.

Prepare patients and exam rooms for treatment

Ensure safe, quality, and cost-effective care for patients.

Foster a safe patient environment driven by the principles of "First Do No Harm."

Engage in teamwork and community involvement to enhance patient care.

What we're looking for:

Education: High School Diploma or GED required.

Medical Assistant Program: Graduate from an accredited program including pharmacology and medication administration.

Certification: Current certification as CMA, RMA, or CCMA, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.

Experience: Previous work in a Medical Office is preferred but not required.

Skills: Ability to successfully complete skills validation and competency testing.

Language: Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

What We're Looking For

Education: High School or GED, required. Candidates will provide proof of current certification from one of the approved certifying registries including: - CMA with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) - CCMA with the National Health Career Association (NHA) - RMA with the American Medical Technologists (AMT) - American Registry of Medical Assistants (NHCWA) - National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) - National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) - American Allied Health (AAH) RMA with the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA). If a candidate is not currently certified, they must obtain certification or registration by the end of the sixth month of their hire and sign an education agreement.

Experience: Previous work in a medical office, preferred.

Licensure/Certification:

Current certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire as CMA, RMA or CCMA, required

Refer to Life Support Training Policy NH-HR-3096

Current State Drivers License (Palliative Care Only), required

Additional Skills/Requirements (required): Ability to successfully complete generic and department specific skills validation and competency testing.
