Duties of Supervisory Administrative Services Specialist If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for supervising a workforce comprised of contracting officers, branch law office manager, administrative services assistant, information receptionists, and overseeing student trainees. Typical work assignments will include: Directs the daily work flow and establishes priorities and work assignments for subordinate personnel; reviews, accepts, modifies, or rejects the work performed; provides policy and regulatory interpretations/guidance, advice, coaching, guidance; recommends and/or takes appropriate personnel action (i.e. selection, reassignment, disciplinary action, leave administration, promotion, award, etc.). Supervises, trains, and mentors employees engaged in the District's acquisition, contracting, procurement (government purchase charge card), and purchase programs. Manages five (5) existing office spaces to the optimum and requests additional space when needed. Acts as liaison with the Executive Office for the United States Attorneys (EOUSA) and General Services Administration (GSA) on all space needs for the District, including the branch and courthouse offices. Serves as the principal security official for and advises the District on all security matters. Serves as the primary liaison with EOUSA Security and Emergency Management Staff (SEMS), U.S. Courts, and other federal and local agencies on District security matters. Supervises, trains, and mentors the District Occupational Safety and Health Coordinator (DOSHC). Schedules, conducts, and records results of annual office inspections. Confirms appropriate corrective measures are requested and/or implemented. Receives, reviews, researches, analyzes, formulates, plans, develops, and executes a wide variety of administrative and managerial special projects assigned by the Administrative Officer, First Assistant U.S. Attorney, and U.S. Attorney. Special projects include, but are not limited to, assisting in backfilling other administrative division staff positions in budget, human resources, and information technology; assisting the Administrative Officer with Delegations of Authority and reviewing, researching, writing, or updating, District guidance, policies, and procedures. Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications GS-13: To be eligible at the GS-13 level, you must meet at least one year of full-time specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as: Supervising subordinate staff, developing performance work plans and evaluating work performance, and leading a team or supervising a cross section of administrative support employees. Performing the following @types of duties: analyzing, developing, planning, and administrating a comprehensive program of support services consisting of duties such as contract administration and procurement; facility, reception, space, and security management; files, mail, printing, property, and supply management; and analyzing senior management issues to develop new alternative procedures to standardize and streamline the effectiveness and efficiency of work procedures and office operations.
