Summary The Division of Corporation Finance (CF) is seeking a Senior Accountant in the Disclosure Management Office. As a Senior Accountant, you will provide mission-critical support to CF and CF's Disclosure Review Program (DRP). Responsibilities In this role as a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for: Leading the integration of rulemakings into operations and EDGAR, assisting leadership with key initiatives, updating DRP review policies and procedures, and representing CF's overall interest in EDGAR. Evaluating the impact of rulemaking on DRP operations and preparing the DRP for the effective date, which may include staff training and revising review processes, policies, and systems. Managing initiatives, events, and processes that are critical to Division operations including the sharing of critical knowledge across the Division. Developing, maintaining, and disseminating best practices, policies, and key learnings to ensure effective knowledge management and facilitate information sharing across teams within the Division. Provide recommendations and guidance about technology solutions designed to enhance the filing review process and/or support effective knowledge management. Providing expert accounting advice and assistance on issues that may involve sensitive matters. Serving as an expert advisor and consultant for the Division on the filing obligations of registrants, including compliance with Regulation S-T. Responding and/or resolving unexpected developments and challenges relating to disclosure document filing and processing. Degree: accounting; or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting. The 24 hours may include up to 6 hours of credit in business law. (The term "accounting" means "accounting and/or auditing" in this standard. Similarly, "accountant" should be interpreted, generally, as "accountant and/or auditor.") OR B. Combination of education and experience: at least 4 years of experience in accounting, or an equivalent combination of accounting experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional accounting knowledge. The applicant's background must also include one of the following: Twenty-four semester hours in accounting or auditing courses of appropriate @type and quality. This can include up to 6 hours of business law; A certificate as Certified Public Accountant or a Certified Internal Auditor, obtained through written examination; or Completion of the requirements for a degree that included substantial course work in accounting or auditing, e.g., 15 semester hours, but that does not fully satisfy the 24-semester-hour requirement of paragraph A, provided that (a) the applicant has successfully worked at the full-performance level in accounting, auditing, or a related field, e.g., valuation engineering or financial institution examining; (b) a panel of at least two higher level professional accountants or auditors has determined that the applicant has demonstrated a good knowledge of accounting and of related and underlying fields that equals in breadth, depth, currency, and level of advancement that which is normally associated with successful completion of the 4-year course of study described in paragraph A; and (c) except for literal nonconformance to the requirement of 24 semester hours in accounting, the applicant's education, training, and experience fully meet the specified requirements. MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT: In addition to meeting the basic requirement, applicants must also meet the minimum qualification requirement. SK-16: Applicant must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS/SK-14 level: Providing advice in Commission rules and regulations, accounting and/or auditing matters to diverse audiences, including senior executives, audit committees, investors, and regulators. Preparing, analyzing and interpreting financial, accounting, and/or auditing data, records, and reports for inclusion in regulatory or legal proceedings. Developing or reviewing policies, procedures, processes, and internal controls related to financial operations or financial reporting. Communicating both orally and in writing to stakeholders.
