Elyan Hunt Correctional Center is seeking a highly organized, dependable, and proactiveAdministrative Assistant 3to provide advanced administrative support to theCorrections Assistant Wardenand theAdministrative Program Director. This role is central to the daily operations of the facility's leadership team and requires strong judgment, professionalism, and the ability to manage sensitive information with discretion.

Minimum Qualifications
Two years of experience in administrative services.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as six months of experience.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
Compile and prepare information for special assignments, reports, and investigations. Draft responses to telephone and written inquiries and compose correspondence for the Corrections Assistant Warden and Administrative Program Director.
Provide typing and clerical support for department heads within the Administrative Division. Utilize computer systems for data entry, inquiries, and report preparation, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Lotus Notes, inmate banking systems, and Time & Attendance.
Maintain and organize confidential files and records for the Administrative Division. Manage incoming and outgoing mail, prioritize items requiring immediate attention, and handle inter-institutional correspondence. Screen calls, greet visitors, and provide information regarding office procedures and services.
Prepare bi-weekly Time & Attendance payroll for assigned areas.
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: PROBATION, or PROMOTION OF A PERMANENT, CLASSIFIED LOUISIANA STATE EMPLOYEE
Current permanent status classified LA State employees may be required to accept a probational appointment if accepted.
An employee selected for a promotion may be required to serve a trial detail prior to being permanently promoted.
This posting may also be used to fill a vacancy as a temporary job appointment. If filled as a temporary job appointment, should a permanent position become available, the employee may be converted to a probational appointment.
