What's a typical day as a Lab Operations Technician? You'll be:
Operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and overhead cranes to safely receive, move, and stage materials and equipment.
Loading, unloading, and transporting equipment within lab, production, and warehouse environments.
Cleaning, calibrating, and preparing equipment for customer rentals, ensuring quality standards are met.
Receiving, inspecting, labeling, and organizing incoming materials and test samples.
Inspecting returned rental equipment for damage, functionality, and cleanliness; documenting findings and coordinating action.
Setting up laboratory equipment for testing procedures, performing routine preventative maintenance, and basic mechanical troubleshooting.
Maintaining a clean and organized lab environment, ensuring it is always ready for customer tours or demonstrations.
Managing inventory of supplies and consumables, restocking as needed to support efficient workflow.
Collaborating with laboratory personnel to troubleshoot equipment or procedural issues.
Providing professional support and direction to visiting customers, representing the company positively.
Documenting and reporting discrepancies or equipment malfunctions to the lab manager.
Ensuring compliance with all safety guidelines, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and regulatory requirements.
This job might be an outstanding fit if you:
Have a high school diploma or GED (required).
Possess 0-2 years of experience in a lab, manufacturing, warehouse, or technical environment (preferred).
Hold strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Are skilled in the safe operation of forklifts, pallet jacks, cranes, and other material handling equipment.
Can handle multiple priorities with strict deadlines and maintain high standards of professionalism.
Are comfortable working from heights (roofs, ladders, powered lifts) and able to frequently move, adjust, and lift objects up to 75 pounds.
Are detail-oriented and able to assess the accuracy and thoroughness of work.
Can communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues and customers.
Will follow safety precautions and wear PPE including safety glasses and steel toe shoes.
Experience with global engineering standards and regulations (e.g., NEC, CSA, NFPA, ISO, UL) is preferred.
Must be able to see color.
