JOBSUMMARY
To leadsustainable financial growth by taking ownership of the financial operations,controls and management information for the Contract.
Provideinsight and influence on impact performance and maintain competitive advantagealongside financial and contract support leadership and direction in theContract. Act as a point of liaison for Finance and Commercial issues for theClient and Contract team.
Thiswill involve personal attitude, use of skills and dissemination of knowledge.Use specialist skills and experience to provide insight and influence to impactperformance standards. Implement improvements, drive change, raise standardsthrough the direct and indirect management of the team. Act as a businesspartner to the Alliance Director to both advise and challenge senior managementon contract performance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Client
· Developing high quality and effective Client relationshipsespecially across the account.
· Build good working relationship with account managementand key client's members and be a business partner for both.
· Tightly manage contract governance, demonstrating anin-depth knowledge of the terms and conditions of the contract to ensure thatall cost elements are appropriately accounted for.
· Assist with client team requests in a timely and accuratemanner.
· Positively respond to both our internal andexternal customers (often in a matrix environment) through effectivecommunication and personal accessibility/credibility.
Financial Reporting
· Prepare accurate Contract reports in line with monthlycompany timetable including full Profit & Loss account with analysis andcommentary, Balance Sheet extracts and reconciliations, detailed ProjectProfitability reporting, Profit & Loss forecasts and annual plans.
· Support any internaltransformation and client initiatives, working closely with other functions toensure full alignment of deliverables and results.
· Provide best in class Management Information to bothClient and CBRE management to include Actuals v Budget.
· Liaising with the central CBRECanada Finance team to fulfill any ad-hoc information requests.
· Ad-hoc reporting as requested by Divisional FinanceDirector or Business Unit Director/Alliance Director.
· Provide ad-hoc support and financial analysis as required.
Contract and Finance Management
· Continually review, maintain and improve cash-flow,margins and reporting. Develop targets and benchmarking processes to challengethe financial information.
· Drive high quality financial / commercial performancethrough understanding the contractual commitments on service lines, ensure isaligned and consistent with global contract management practices.
· Identify and help drive implementation of savingsopportunities to ensure Client and internal financial savings targets aremaximized.
· Review Client P&L resultsand challenge.
· Carry out regular Business Unitreviews and Project reviews
· Active management of overheadswhilst seeking out areas for efficiencies for savings.
· Build and develop high level relationships withbusiness and account leaders, central teams, global account teams, customersand external agencies (e.g. auditors).
· Conduct monthly formal Contract reviews.
· Ensure use of best practice, communication andunderstanding of key business messages through monthly site visits with focuson underperforming contracts.
· Constantly improving quality, service andefficiency.
· Communicate regularly with contract financial andcontract support staff to ensure they are fully informed of operationalobjectives and achievements.
· Identify, analyze and resolve potential businessrisks, as well as opportunities and solutions to enhance business performance.
· Support in any client related audits.
Finance Processes, Procedures and Reporting
· Ensure company policies and procedures are adhered toconsistently throughout the Contract.
· Ensure full substantiation of all accruals, un-billedrevenue and WIP are in line with CBRE policy.
· Manage the integrity of data in Client reporting and CBREsystems.
· Develop an understanding of how to best utilize CBREsystem-generated reporting capabilities.
· Continually develop systems to maximize efficiencybenefits for client & CBRE.
· Ensure the accuracy andintegrity of accounting records and financial systems, identify opportunitiesto enhance system efficiencies
· Have thorough knowledge of procedures and processesand lead the delivery of these to the required standard.
· Manage compliance through the required proceduresand processes.
Finance Planning
· Assist in delivering best in class CBRE and Clientmanagement information including annual budgets (balance sheet and cash flowplans), monthly management accounts and forecasts including Profit and Lossvariance and Balance Sheet commentaries.
Financial Governance
· Ensure CBRE and statutory obligations are met forreporting and governance purposes.
· Responsibility for ensuring theintegrity of the Balance Sheet and Balance Sheet Commentary.
· Ensure monthly balance sheetreconciliations are carried out, reviewed and maintained in ART.
· Driving and agreeing anyfinancial policy requirements with the Divisional Financial Director orAlliance Director.
· Ensure Account is complyingwith any Global Account Standards.
People Management
· Recruit, induct, manage, target, motive and developthe team.
· Review and advise on resourcing gaps.
· Carry out structured appraisals and ensure personaldevelopment plans are in place and include succession plans.
· Build, lead and motivate a diverse and effectiveteam. Empower team members to take responsibility and accountability.
· Superviseand review performance of individuals in the team.
Qualifications -External
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from a four-year college or university in a businessrelated field. Requires a minimum of six years related experience to include atleast two years in a lead or supervisory capacity. Public accounting experiencepreferred.
CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES
CPA or MBA (graduate degree) preferred, but not required (depending onexperience).
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Ability to apply excellent written and verbal communication skills toaccurately explain/report activity. Strong organizational and analyticalskills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service tocustomers. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive issues and workcollaboratively with business partners, key employees, top management, andclient groups on various projects.
FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE
Requires in-depth knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability tocalculate complex figures. Ability to forecast and prepare budgets. Conductsfinancial/business analysis including the preparation of reports. Broad,in-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP),concepts. SEC reporting experience desired (depending on the specific financerole).
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex financial information andtransactions and accounting principles. Ability to independently researchcomplex accounting transactions/issues. Ability to problem-solve, bothindependently and working as a team. Requires advanced analytical andquantitative skills. Draws upon the analysis of others and makesrecommendations that have a direct impact on the company.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES
Strong computer skills, including specific knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite(Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.). Broad experience with other softwareand financial systems is desired such as HFM Consolidation, PeopleSoftFinancials and Cognos Planning. Knowledge of real estate service industry andterminology is helpful. Strong work ethic and adaptable.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY
Decisions made with thorough understanding of procedures, company policies, andbusiness practices to achieve general results and deadlines. Responsible forsetting work unit and/or project deadlines. Errors in judgment may causeshort-term impact to department.
CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate's education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Sr. Finance Manager position is $170,000 annually and the maximum salary of $190,000 annually. The compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on their skills, qualifications, and experience.
