Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our team in Cambridge, Massachusetts for a renown higher education institution. In this role, you will support daily financial operations, including invoice processing, expense reconciliation, and travel report management. This is a contract position with the potential for long-term employment, offering an excellent opportunity to grow within the education industry.

Responsibilities:

Process and match invoices with a high level of accuracy.

Reconcile monthly expenses to ensure financial records are up-to-date.

Prepare and review detailed travel expense reports.

Support the verification and approval of various financial transactions.

Assist in budget analysis and projections for operational activities.

Coordinate with internal departments to manage revenue receipts and transfers.

Maintain and update financial records in compliance with organizational policies.

Help streamline business processes for improved accuracy and efficiency.

Collaborate with finance teams on audits and reporting requirements.

Provide general accounting support for programs, classes, and events.

Requirements - 1-3 years of experience in accounting or a related field.

Strong attention to detail with a focus on numerical accuracy.

Proficiency in managing reconciliations and expense reporting.

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines effectively.

Familiarity with financial software, though specific platform experience is not required.

Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and tasks.

Experience in the education industry is a plus.
