Job Title: Medical Assisting Instructor
DESCRIPTION: The Medical Assisting Instructor is responsible under the direct supervision of faculty members to perform routine standardized laboratory work requiring close attention to detailed procedures in the preparation and basic maintenance and operation of laboratory equipment, inventory, and requisition of supplies, assisting faculty in supervision of students assigned to laboratories, and other related duties.
MAJOR DUTIES:
Develops program and course outlines, goals and objectives
Prepares lesson plans for classroom instruction for credited technical/occupational courses
Instruction in the clinical setting
Evaluates students' progress in attaining goals and objectives
Work well in the classroom and in supervising students at practicum or internship sites
Maintaining program data necessary for accreditation
Participation in professional development
Requests and maintains supplies and equipment and prepares required budget requests
Maintains program certification requirements, as appropriate
Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports
Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training area
Meets with students, staff members and other educators to discuss students' instructional programs and other issues impacting the progress of the students
Assists with recruitment, retention and job placement efforts
Must be willing to work flexible hours
Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Associate's degree in an Allied Health Science field
Current CMA/RMA certification
Experience as a Medical Assistant or Medical Office Manager
Driver's License Requirement: Valid GA Driver License
Physical Demands:
The employee occasionally lifts or moves objects of a light to medium weight.
Work is typically performed with the employee sitting at a desk in an office environment with intermittent sitting, standing, or walking in various settings.
The employee must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
Full range of hand and finger motion is utilized for data entry purposes.
Travel Requirements: Some travel to peer groups or other training/conferences and to the other campuses is required.
Training Requirements:
Employee understands and agrees to complete all required trainings, to include those mandated by the State of Georgia Governor, by stated deadlines, as a condition of employment.
