Shipping and Receiving Clerk

Shift: 8am - 4:30pm M-F

Pay: $18/hr

Location: Westside, Jacksonville

Job Description

This involves kneeling, squatting, reaching, and bending. The primary responsibilities include moving, arranging, lifting, and loading storage boxes, bins, and totes, which can weigh between 24lbs to over 50lbs. Tasks also involve processing orders and handling files, books, binders, backup tapes, and other materials. This position requires manual lifting, carrying, and arranging of boxes while standing and walking of important documents. Specialists must be able to load and safely operate hand trucks and pallet jacks.

Responsibilities

Manually lift, carry, and move boxes ranging from 10-50lbs regularly without assistance.

Process orders and move boxes of files, books, binders, and other materials.

Perform destruction tasks by locating boxes within the warehouse and moving them to a cart or pallet.

Re-box contents by removing items from old boxes and placing them in new ones.

Replace lids on boxes as part of the re-lid tasks.

Engage in special projects that involve building boxes, packing products, and preparing shipments, requiring 100% attendance and adherence to tight deadlines.

Essential Skills

Warehouse experience preferred.

Ability to lift up to 50lbs.

Capability to be on feet all day, walking warehouse floors, climbing stairs or ladders.

Experience working in a non-climate-controlled environment.

Proficiency in operating RF scanners and processing orders.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Ability to walk, stand, kneel, squat, stoop, and bend for extended periods.

Capacity to work without assistance in gripping, lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying boxes over varying surfaces.

Proficiency in reading and writing English.

Experience with proprietary computer systems to track orders and determine the location of boxes.

Competence in operating handheld scanners and balancing on ladders.

Work Environment

The work environment is a non-climate-controlled warehouse, which can be hot, dusty, and dirty. Travel between various warehouse locations in Jacksonville, FL, is required, although not on the same day. The role involves working on concrete surfaces and requires a willingness to engage in physical tasks throughout the shift.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jacksonville, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $18.50/hr.
