What can you expect?
As the Field Service Technician you will work onsite in Prudhoe Bay, Alaska and will be responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical components of construction machinery while having the ability to utilize all facets of their technical background to support the majority of the customers needs. The Field Service Technician will primarily work from a service truck, driving to client locations. This position performs diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs in the field to minimize equipment downtime and ensure safe and reliable operation of customer equipment.
How will you do it?
Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain various @types of construction and heavy equipment, including mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
Perform preventative maintenance and routine service to ensure equipment reliability and reduce operational downtime.
Diagnose and repair electrical generators and related components.
Perform welding, cutting, and light fabrication as required to complete equipment repairs.
Operate heavy equipment as necessary for testing, diagnostics, and repair verification.
Utilize technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools to troubleshoot issues and identify required parts and repairs.
Assist with equipment setup, commissioning, and testing following repairs or maintenance.
Maintain and organize tools, service truck inventory, and repair parts necessary to perform field repairs.
Prepare accurate field service tickets, job reports, and other documentation detailing work performed, parts used, and labor hours.
Accurately document work performed, parts used, and labor hours in service reports and maintenance systems.
Communicate with customers and internal teams regarding equipment status, repair recommendations, and estimated completion timelines.
Provide high-quality, industry-standard customer service while representing the company in the field.
Work independently with limited supervision in both shop and field environments.
Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements while working in shop and field environments.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area, including service vehicles and work sites.- Work a rotational schedule of 3 weeks on / 3 weeks off, including travel to remote job sites as required.
Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe and efficient manner.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of construction and heavy equipment repair, maintenance, and servicing practices.
Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and mechanical components commonly found in construction equipment.
Ability to diagnose and repair a wide variety of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical machinery and equipment.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, and parts catalogs to support troubleshooting and repairs.
Ability to identify problems as they occur and take appropriate steps to solve them.
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills to diagnose equipment malfunctions and determine effective repair solutions.
Ability to manage difficult or emotional customer situations, respond promptly to customer needs, respond to requests for service and assistance, and meet commitments.
Ability to actively listen and proactively request clarification when needed.
Ability to prioritize and plan work activities, use time efficiently, and plan for additional resources.
Ability to manage multiple service calls or repair priorities in a fast-paced field environment.
