Job Title: Industrial EngineerJob Description

The Industrial Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining all supplier packaging and material presentation to the factory. This role requires collaboration with engineering, quality, supply chain, and logistics teams to implement objectives, including continuous improvement initiatives to achieve customer satisfaction and fulfillment needs.

Responsibilities

Lead and ensure product, material, and information streams flow and are synchronized to produce maximum efficiencies and lowest cost of operation.

Responsible for area layouts, process definition, and equipment justification, selection, and implementation.

Lead and implement demand-driven principles and strategies that support operational excellence and long-range plans with a focus on flexibility, speed, and responsiveness.

Lead and ensure ongoing success of process improvement initiatives by implementing policies, procedures, and process documentation.

Be a leader in the creation of innovative ideas to improve business results.

Deploy standard tools, methodologies, standards, practices, and processes.

Work closely with shop floor personnel to promote ongoing continuous improvement of manufacturing methods, systems, and controls.

Develop and implement an optimal supplier packaging policy.

Collaborate with the inventory analyst to develop packaging models for all raw materials, supporting the plan for every part and total cost of ownership models.

Travel to the supply base to understand inbound materials and needed packaging.

Develop monitoring tools to ensure and communicate supplier adherence to the supplier packaging policy.

Develop and execute test methods, capability studies, and protocols for packaging-related improvements.

Create or validate packaging-related SOPs and work instructions, and provide training for appropriate personnel performing packaging activities.

Develop policies for the preservation of materials for service requirements.

Support new product introduction by collaborating with project management and supplier sourcing to ensure all new products sourced have the correct packaging specification.

Packaging expertise

Bachelor's degree in engineering

5 years of experience as an industrial engineer with a focus on packaging

5 years of experience in CAD (AutoCAD, Solid Works, and/or ProE)

Work Environment

This role is based in Eagle, WI, and requires a hands-on and on-site presence.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Eagle, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $65.00/hr.
