With three campuses along Colorado's Front Range, FRCC is the state's largest community college. We enroll close to 28,000 students annually from our diverse service area, which offers a variety of cultural and recreational activities.

Who You Are
Faculty are responsible for providing quality education including class instruction, class-related work, and performing other professional duties which may include, but are not limited to, advising students; mentoring and supporting part-time instructors; serving on institution-wide committees and statewide task forces; recruiting students; sponsoring student activities; providing job placement and community outreach services; participating in professional organizations which enhance the educational mission of the college; and developing innovative approaches to learning.
As a full-time faculty member and program director in the School of Manufacturing, Automotive, Construction & Design Technologies you provide instruction in all levels of HVAC, including developmental and/or transfer levels. You work individually, as well as in collaboration with colleagues, to develop innovative curriculum which meets the needs of our diverse population of students. Student retention and success is your top priority. You will utilize technology and effective teaching strategies to develop students' critical thinking skills.
Additionally, you will coordinate industry engagement with local employers for advisory committee, internship, and other industry specific needs, ensure the maintenance of appropriate approvals and accreditation, maintain and develop the curriculum in step with industry and state requirements, schedule and support the course offerings, hire, train and support the instructors in the program, and maintain the laboratory, equipment and resource needs of the program.
This position does have the opportunity to work remotely occasionally but does require a strong on-campus presence and may require occasional travel to all three FRCC campuses.

SELECTION PROCESS: Position will remain open until filled with a priority deadline of April 12, 2026. This posting may be used to fill multiple or similar positions.
The selection process for the HVAC Faculty will be conducted through a competitive, merit-based evaluation of all qualified applicants. Preliminary screening will be made on the basis of a completed application package submitted by the candidate. Completed application package includes:
A resume or CV;
A letter of interest;
A copy of official transcripts (or related certificate/license);
A one-page statement of your teaching philosophy; and
A list of courses and the semesters you have taught (if applicant).

Qualifications
Required Education/Training & Work Experience:
A related associate degree or credit-bearing post-secondary certificate or relevant current industry license or certification and 4,000 verified occupational/industry hours within 7 years.
OR
A related Bachelor's or any Master's degree with 18 discipline related credits and 2,000 verified occupational/industry hours within 7 years.
OR
Any unrelated degree without a relevant current industry license or certification with 6,000 verified occupational/industry hours within 10 yearsAND a Skills Demonstration for Minimum Teaching Qualifications verified by the Lead Faculty/Program Director and/or Industry Subject Matter Expert. Equivalent experience document with rubric must be completed, submitted, and approved.
OR
No degree or credit-bearing post-secondary certificate or relevant current industry license or certification with 10,000 verified occupational/industry hours within 10 yearsAND a Skills Demonstration for Minimum Teaching Qualifications verified by the Lead Faculty/Program Director and/or Industry Subject Matter Expert. Equivalent experience document with rubric must be completed, submitted, and approved.
Related Degree, Credential, and/or Occupational Experience - process heating and/or cooling, HVAC Technician, HVA certification or license, Mechanical Engineer, DOL apprenticeship credential in HVAC.

FRCC employees contribute to Colorado PERA (https://internal.cccs.edu/human-resources/employee-benefits/) , which provides retirement and other benefits to employees of more than 500 government agencies and public entities in the state of Colorado. PERA is the 21st largest public pension plan in the United States and is a substitute for Social Security; FRCC employees do not contribute to Social Security. PERA eligible employees are required to contribute a fixed percentage of their salary to the pension. Student employees are not eligible to participate in PERA.
FRCC and the State of Colorado also offer three tax-deferred supplemental investment plans, including 401(k), 403(b) and 457 plans.
