Summary The Program Analyst of this position provides support for the Specialty Care Service Line at Iowa City VA Health Care System by analyzing and evaluating a wide range of issues relating to the setting analysis, budget analysis, program review, process analysis, developing action plans and processes to improve patient care. Responsibilities Major duties and responsibilities include: Performing program cost analyses such as maintaining records of fee basing services. Performing cost benefit and/or economic evaluations of programs and processes. Performing cost effectiveness studies by collecting data and making computations. Planning, designing, analyzing, and submitting action plan proposals to supervisory and upper management within the service line. Developing procedures and systems for establishing, operating, and assessing the effectiveness of administrative control systems or operating programs. Evaluating results of audits/inspections and forwards action items to supervisory or upper management within the service line. Ensuring analysis, data collections, reports, and presentations are completed using a strong knowledge and use of various software programs including but not limited to: VISTA, CPRS, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet downloads, and other programs as necessary. Analyzing and evaluating, on a quantitative or qualitative basis, the effectiveness of programs or operations in meeting established goals and objectives. Analyzing and summarizing information for the supervisory and upper management staff, providing information on past and current processes and programs. Managing and/or acts as a liaison or handles the communication with persons and/or groups within and outside of the organization at the local and VISN levels. Performs other duties as assigned.
