Summary This position, located at the OKC VA Health Care System, Office of the Associate Director, serves as the Executive Leadership Team's on-site and regional representative assigned to conduct administrative oversight for various outpatient clinics throughout the Facility coverage areas. Such a training program must have been conducted in an operating health care system and included: Assignments providing a knowledge of basic health system administration philosophies, practices, and procedures, and basic government administrative policies and requirements; Practical assignments providing an opportunity to apply health system administration skills and principles (as the individual progresses, work assignments must be characteristic of the grade level to which he or she is assigned); and Oversight by an experienced health system administrator with periodic evaluation of the individual's progress and appropriate adjustment of the training program. You may qualify based on your experience as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-11 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to...Mastery of advanced concepts, principles, and practices in health care management to serve as the on-site technical authority for a full range of primary care, mental health and specialty clinics; knowledge of VHA resource management, access management and human resources policy to advise, plan and execute VHA and local organization initiatives and priorities; and knowledge and skill to apply the latest developments in continuous process improvement and clinic management practices to resolve problems for which accepted methods are not directly applicable and to review latest policy, directives and internal guidance for the improvement or sustained compliance of facility operations. Preferred Experience: Experience in clinical and non-clinical lease management; management of multiple sites of care and service lines; collaboration with stakeholders across the healthcare facility, and data management as it pertains to clinic management and/or resource management and utilization is preferred.
