Medical Records Clerk (On-Site)

Location: Golden, CO

Schedule: Full-time, 8-hour shift between 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire

Experience Level: Entry Level

Position Overview

An established healthcare clinic is seeking a Medical Records Clerk to support its centralized office hub in Golden, Colorado. This is a fast-paced, hands-on role ideal for someone detail-oriented who enjoys data entry, customer service, and working in a clinical environment.

The position involves heavy scanning and data entry, managing medical records, and supporting clinical staff with medication-related administrative tasks. This role is fully on-site and requires professionalism, reliability, and strong communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

Scan, file, and maintain patient medical records across multiple clinic locations

Handle all medical record requests and release of information (ROI) requests in compliance with HIPAA

Serve as a liaison between cardiology providers and referring primary care offices

Assist clinical staff with medication-related administrative tasks

Obtain prior authorizations for medications

Support patients with drug assistance programs

Communicate regularly with pharmacies and insurance companies

Perform high-volume data entry with accuracy and efficiency

Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations

Complete additional administrative duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or GED

Minimum 6 months of experience in data entry or customer service

Strong typing and computer skills; comfortable using multiple systems

Experience with Microsoft Office

Strong verbal communication and customer service skills

Detail-oriented with solid math and accuracy skills

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, clinic-based environment

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with an EMR (Electronic Medical Records) system

Familiarity with medical record workflows and shared folders

Understanding of ROI requests and the ability to guide patients through the process

Prior healthcare or clinical office experience

Work Environment

Clinic-based setting with ongoing patient activity

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
